I've heard stories about what the demons of popcorn do to the satanic popped product of corn as it is being produced.... Blech!!!

Okay, in the case of the popcorn it may not be ARTIFICIAL, per say, but I know that the smell is piped out, not from the wagon, but from somewhere because I used to live in the same apartment complex with the person responsible for inspections in and around WDW, including the "piping" mechanisms and such. He used to joke about how the Tollhouse smell was so lovely that he would almost rather stand in front of that vent than to eat a freshly baked Tollhouse cookie, which paled in comparison. (personally I never met a Tollhouse cookie I didn't like : ) )

I thought the same was used for popcorn, but I guess it is the strong smell of the steam as the popcorn cooks, or maybe it is both ? Could it be that the smell is coming from more than one place at the same time ? Anything is possible with Disney : )

That was Walt Disney World, this is Disneyland.

We do not pump the smell of popcorn anywhere. As I explained earlier, it's the steam coming off the kettle which is vented out of the wagon.

On a cold night, watch one of the popcorn wagons as it is popping popcorn. When standing in front of the cart, you'll notice steam start to shoot out of the upper right side of the cart.
