Have you carved them yet? When do you usually carve your pupmkins? Have any tips on keeping carved pumpkins fresh for a longer amount of time?

If you have them already carved, what have you carved into the pumpkin? Let's see pictures!

Display your proud pumpkin work here for all of us to "ohh" and "ahh" over =)

For the past two years I have stuck to the nightmare before christmas theme so I am trying to branch out this year haha. I am scouring the internet for peter pan characters or alice in wonderland characters FREE stencils and so far I am not having very much luck. I might get "stuck" with nightmore before xmas again ;)

Klucky where did you find the pixar stencils?

These are GIANT pumpkins with very thick walls. We have taken a carving seminar every year with Terri Hardin:

I love that haunted mansion one! Too bad disney hasn't released some stencils featuring some of the parks iconic figures and rides (or have they?).

The look of the "shaded" pumpkins always looks so cool but I feel I don't have the paitence to finish it completely without messing it up several times along the way LOL. Are carving pumpkins using the "shading" method very difficult to do?

I remember Terri from the big meet in 05...she is one talented lady!

After looking at several pumpkins and stencils online I think I am going to attempt my own version of Jim Shore's "Pixie Be-Witch" (<a href="http://www.embroideryplusdesigns.com/catalog/IW20-4008071.jpg" target="_blank">http://www.embroideryplusdesig...8071.jpg</a>).

I think I have devised a pumpkin carving plan...my pumpkin may or may not make it out fairly unscathed lol! To make it easier, Tink will be carved in silouhette form. I'm not quite talented enough to go into all the details that Jim Shore does ;)

Great pumpkins and ideas everyone! Can't wait to see more =)

These are the results of our evening of Pumpkin carving fun. If you click the thoughts tab above there is a bit about who did what. I carved the Walt one. If you click back a few photos there is a few other fun Halloween photos if you are interested.

    enjoy.

Tinkeroon sent me this really cool link the other day, its a Pumpkin Simulator:

    <a href="http://www.coasttocoastam.com/timages/page/pumpkin_sim.html" target="_blank">http://www.coasttocoastam.com/...sim.html</a>

The key is you have to do it all in one motion to make a hole. I tried to make a heart and had to start from the bottom up and couple times it ended up looking like a poorly done hidden Mickey head.

I sent it to LP Live as a test picture to see if my cell service was working again, but it made it's way to LP Live anyway.
