It wasn't just that they were going slower than usual, but they were going slower than walking speed. We figured the first time we must have gotten a first time tram driver, but on the way back it seemed like they were all doing this. I have no idea what the reason is, but I'll be back again later today, and I'll see if they're going any faster. If they're not, I'll definately consider walking through DTD.

I was told that the driver of that tram was trying to go around another tram and ran several car into the sign. In both cases the trams were going way to fast.

That happened a while ago though. This slow tram thing seems to have just started this weekend. I noticed it yesterday as well. Very strange. I will find out what I can tomorrow.

It was still probably 2 or 3 times faster than what had happened on Sunday though. What had been unreasonably slow was all changed back to the usual speed, at least as far as I could tell.

On the way back, the CM got on the loud speaker as we were going past the Christmas tree on the right side and said "Ladies and gentlemen, please direct your attention to the driver's left hand side where you will see something amazing, not the right hand side. I repeat, there is nothing to see on the driver's right hand side." At which point, everybody looked to the right and oohed and aahed at the tree, which had spotlights on it so we could see it pretty clearly through the fence.

Have the Halloween decorations on the tram route been removed and been replaced and when? I won't get to see them this year, I won't get to go back until February. bah!

It's kind of strange, considering that they are leftovers from one of TDL's different years (they have different character displays in the hub each year for all the different promotions they do, probably about 4-6 different ones each year), so I kind of wonder why they haven't done anything for Christmas. I know that TDL has stuff that they've used in the past, but I don;t know what happened to it. Unless it's been destroyed (which I hear is not uncommon for TDL decorations and unsold merchandise), I feel like DL could get some pretty cheap ones from them that are in great condition.

They should be getting the pardoned turkeys again this year, which will take up residence in Big Thunder Ranch, but that will be about it. They're selling Mickey and Minnie plushes at the Disney Showcase on Main Street dressed as pilgrims, but I couldn't find any other Thanksgiving merchandise last night.

Add the time it took to wait to get on the tram (why can't they stack those things up one after another like airplanes queued up to land at O'Hare International during times when the parks let out and the load/unload area is flooded with people all at once?) - plus the slow, slow running trams themselves - might almost have been faster just to walk all the way back to Mickey and Friends.

And what's the deal with empty trams just sitting there, doing nothing, in the load/unload area when all of those people are waiting to get back to Mickey and Friends? Meanwhile, only one or two of the trams are actually DOING anything, and you have to wait forever for the next one to get here after the current one leaves.

It's too bad there isn't anything like this at Disneyland.

    Not only that ....
but since 2001 .. when all this infrastructure went into place ...
I can't tell you how frustrating it is in the evening ... and the tram system is jugging along like it's 1906. Meanwhile ... the crowds are heavy .. and I know it will take 3-5 cycles till I get on one .. which will take anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes.

At the end of the day ...
when your legs and feet are beat after walking all day ... the last thing anyone wants is to STAND waiting for a tram!

It's been this way for years ....
and the company does nothing about it.
