Yes. They should always endeavor to expand their reach in society. Opening up who they cater to can only improve the product, in creative terms.

I think that would happen in TDO actually wanted to spend in the parks. They don't. They are content to allow them to rot with minimal improvements. Hopefully Burbank/Glendale disagrees.

The very fact that the entire announcement is a nonevent and that nothing is official about it.

Maybe Disney has found that that's the general feeling for most people. I know I would prefer it not happen.

I've heard James Cameron can be quite challenging to work with, maybe he's causing trouble?

And that's all that comes to WDW in the first place. They need to go beyond that.

Allegedly WDI presented him with an E-ticket idea that would be essentially "Soarin' over Pandora," and he balked because, you know, "Soarin'" has been done and it's not ground-breaking and Cameron thinks the E-ticket in Avatarland should be top-notch.

Supposedly that created a little friction between him and Disney.

The NYTimes reported a flight simulator ride for Avatar -- so maybe that's the "Soarin'" idea or maybe it's an improvement.

    Who knows?

If that is their mission then they should not build new rides but instead should lower their admission price. Just let anyone in.

Families come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. "Family" is not a synonym for "people with small children".

Is the New Fantasyland a "minmal improvement"?

But they are getting a bit stale. Some more than others. Other than "Soarin" I have not been wowed lately by any other new Disney rides or attractions. Sure, I like TSMM, but the lines and the way Fast Pass has been managed lately make that attraction unbearable. DHS would benefit from additional rides/attractions that appeal to the younger set.

Well, they are a business. They have to maintain profit. But they can change how they do so, by all means.

Precisely that. New aesthetics. Some patches to capacity. Nothing more, nothing less.
