My hubby would prefer to have a separate bedroom for privacy...lol...he tends to get outnumbered and wants a place to "escape" from us girls! I was hoping you could all list your favorites and the average price you pay per night. We normally stay at Embassy and pay $129.00 a night, but I see the rates right now for the time I want to go is $149.00 so I am doing some price shopping. Thanks all!

Originally Posted By gadzuux I stayed at marriott suites last month(NOT the convention center marriott - this one is further down harbor at chapman) and was only mildly satisfied. The 'package' (through disney) was a good value, and included a full breakfast buffet for four adults each morning, as well as a "fourth night free" offer But the location was a bit far and the room was a bit small and underwhelming. The size of the room was fairly standard, but with an additional wall bisecting the room, with double glass doors between the bedroom and the main room. There were additional panes of glass on either side of these double glass doors, and sheer curtains in a lame attempt at privacy. There were problems with the ART shuttle as well - although I don't know if I can hold marriott suites responsible for that. So in sum, the price was a good value but the location and size of the room were ultimately unsuitable for us. Ironically, I've also stayed at the marriott at the ACC and was very satisfied with this location. We weren't staying in a "suite" but the rooms were comfortable, the location was fine, and most importantly (for me anyway) the rooms had a balcony - small ones certainly, but I like being able to open a sliding door and step out for air and view. This marriott would likely also have suites and may be a better choice. If you haven't checked with disney's travel company I would suggest you contact them. The bundled packages (air, hotel, hoppers, ART) that they offer can often beat anything you could put together on your own. And often, they'll steer you to where the best values are, with perks like free breakfast or fourth night free.
Originally Posted By gadzuux One more thing, the package we used at the marriott ACC was 'buy one, get a 2nd room half-off'. So while it wasn't a suite, it was a good arrangement for our group (four adults). You might wish to consider two rooms as an alternative to a suite. It might be a better value, especially if the hotels are offering similar deals.

Couldn't have been any nicer on the phone and accomodating!

On our trip last month we booked the Hampton Inn throught Get Away Today, but purchased our tickets through AAA because it was a bit cheaper. Since free parking comes with the AAA tickets, we just drove to the parks so we have no experience with the ART. I do know that the ART stop is right next door in front of the Embassy Suites. Hope this helps!

My only complaint was the parking. They share a lot with the Embassy Suites and Buca di Beppo. Saturday night there was a big wedding reception at the Embassy, so no parking. We eventually found a spot far away, and only after driving around the lot for 20 minutes. After Saturday night, parking was no problem. The final reason I liked the Hampton the best - it was the least expensive, as I recall, of all of them!!

Only problem we had was we found a huge rat traps (wasn't sure if we should be glad they were empty) in the cabinets and a closet of our room one visit, they moved us to a new "trap-free" room immediatley --- and even tho I guess they may have just run up there and removed any traps, I felt better about it and did not see any evidence of furry intruders while we were there. Hilton Suites was OK...it's been years...they had a really great free breakfast, but we felt like the staff was a bit snobbish. My parents found a mouse in their room when they stayed at Homewood Suites a couple years ago. And met people that said the Portofino was so bad that they were switching hotels after the second night there.
