    Wow, what a film.

I was totally blown away, once again by the glorious characters & character animation, the emotion, the adventure...you name it.

There are many famous Tarzan films, but rarely do they explore what it was like for Tarzan to be (in his mind) an ape.

I even noticed something new. When Tarzan visits his parents' treehouse & finds his old baby blanket, take a look at his expression & body language as he holds it. He's got a feeling gnawing at his subconscious, almost remembering those infant emotions. You can see it all in two seconds of animation.

    Bravo.

His agility works so well with Keane's fluid style, making the ape man glide liquidly through each scene. His facial expressions are also top-notch, but his body language is absolutely primo, especially in the Tarzan vs. Sabor scene.

Being a huge Phil Collins fan, I already knew that I wanted to see this movie. And one of the things I love about the 2-disc DVD is that it has demo versions of the songs. There's one song I really like that they didn't end up being able to put in the movie, which is a shame. It was pretty amazing to hear what he came up with when he only had a rough idea of what they were going to do. I remember previously watching the little featurette about Phil singing the songs in other languages. I can't imagine how happy the execs were to hear that, so that they'd have a version of the songs in other languages by the original singer, one who's well known and successful at that.

I haven't had a chance to watch it with the commentary yet, but that'll probably have to wait a while.

And yep, this is what has seared the name Glenn Keane in my memory. The look of the film is just so amazing. And I really love the story too. I think this is the first time I didn't cry when the baby gorilla died and when Kerchak died.

I love this movie so much, and that's why I'm so excited to see the Broadway musical next year.
