Does stupid EVER stop being funny?

Rule #1: if you ever start an anti-government group, NEVER congregate in a tight, publicized community.

    Idiots.

And the best part of the Patriot Agreement is ...

    >>Twelve: Violations of this Agreement will result in review by an arbitration panel consisting of Citadel Residents with appropriate and proportional disciplinary action taken. The most severe disciplinary action may include the loss of Lease and expulsion from the community.<<

Now just imagine what goes down if they try to enforce this provision.

But wait ... who is in charge of enforcing it? From http://www.iiicitadel.com/faq.html :

    >>Who is the Leader?

There is no person who can claim the title, "Leader" of the Citadel, nor will there be. The only "Leader" we have is the ideal of Jefferson's Rightful Liberty.<<

No leader? At all? I believe this is what's known in some circles as Marxism, no?

Wait, wait, you haven't heard the BEST best part yet ... same page:

    >>The model will be similar in many ways to that of Disneyland. It is walled, gated, private property with controlled access. People pay to enter and agree to the rules because they see value in doing so. It is all based on a voluntary agreement between the owners of the property and those who want to come inside. Millions of people visit Disneyland and interact peacefully. It's exceptionally rare to hear of any serious problems. The key is that those people want to be there and understand what is expected of them. Surprisingly similar to what we are doing.<<

So it's Commie Disneyland with lots and lots of guns. What can possi-blye go wrong?

Also, no infrastructure. I think they should replace the "C" with "SH" now to indicate no public sewage facilities.

Lots of armed people with no background checks. That is awesome. Nothing could go wrong with that.

You must be 'approved" but since there is supposed no leader, then who does the approving? Maybe they conjure the ghost of Thomas Jefferson to do that, if only they can stop him rolling over in his grave.

Something tells me the exact opposite would be true.

And all these paranoid, heavily armed people in one place? Becoming more and more insular? I hate to tell them, but they can't just secede from the larger society. They'd still be part of whatever community this ends up being based in, and subject to the laws (and police) of that community.

I'm imagining a dispute between two guys in this place, somebody gets shot... the police come in, and the community doesn't consider them "legitimate." Nothing could go wrong there.

Part of me is actually HOPING this is nothing more than a real estate scam set up by savvy people who have monitored Fox and Drudge enough to know there's a market for this. And that they'll be off to Rio once the deposits come in and this place will never be built. Because as much as I hate to see people get bilked, if this place actually gets built it's just a matter of time before one of the wackos goes off. It's bad enough to scatter wackos among the general population; concentrate them in one place, and... well, what could go wrong?

But in other parts, they talk about there being "No HOA" and "No City Hall." I know it's popular Drudge / far-right fare to despise these two types of entities, as they infringe on individual liberty. But, what about Citidal resident that has a dispute with the larger community and loses their case before the arbitration panel? Isn't that just the same thing as an HOA or City Hall regulation but by another name?

Yes it is, but they're too dumb to know it. The whole thing is silly and funny, and I kind of doubt it will ever come to pass. But if it does, they won't get to be their own little country, and they won't get to make their own laws. I doubt they'd be able to withstand even the smallest of legal challenges by an evicted resident.

Also, if anyone wanted to challenge them on existing Fair Housing laws, the whole enterprise may not be legal from the start.

I pay less then that per month for my 1600 per month which was actually finished indoors and has utilities.

I see a problem: once they sell more than X number of these, they'll fall under the definition of being a firearms dealer, and will be required to perform background checks before they can sell/give out rifles.
