I would appreciate any information about what to look for, how much, good idea? Husband doesn't like taking time to do that since we are usually there so briefly.

    Honest information please, no salespeople!

I own at Boardwalk, Beach Club, and Saratoga Springs. I prefer Old Key West, but I think Boardwalk is the most impressive.

If you really want to know the details and costs I'll post em, or you can visit the web site or call 1-800-800-9800. They are NOT pushy at all, and they will explain everything to you honestly without spinning it.

But before you buy, check out all other options. I did, and have no regrets whatsoever. Also, I am yet to find a single other DVC Member that has regrets. I am sure there are some as I see people selling their timeshares on ebay and other places all the time. But I am yet to speak to or meet any members that say they made a bad decision. In fact most of them I meet feel the same way I do.

    Good luck.

The only negative I find is that if you have 150 points you will use about half of them if you stay on a Friday and Saturday night. If you plan on more than one visit, you're better off with a Sun-Thurs visit, which will leave you with at least enough points for another visit of that length if you stay in a studio.

I am getting frustrated not being able to get what I want. I would like to eventually move all of my points to OKW and Boardwalk 50/50. *sigh* Oh well... there's always Saratoga Springs I guess.

I don't understand your objective, since you can use any of the points at any DVC location. The only difference is how far ahead you can book. I own 250 Boardwalk points and have never had a problem using them at the Beach Club when I felt the urge to book there so I can swim in that awesome pool at high peak times when no pool hopping is allowed.

If I owned at OKW I could book 11 months out to the day, booking 1 day at a time for 5 days which would INSURE I get what I want. I have 700 points, which is plenty to get more than 2 full weeks a year plus a couple long weekends, if we don't take anyone other than our immediate family, which is about to be a family of 8 if you count JUST US CHICKENS.

    NOW:

If I were to move some around, end up with say 500 at OKW and keep the 200 I have at Boardwalk, I would accomplish my goal. Right now I am somewhat limited and I keep getting bumped on the 3 BR due to not having enough at a SINGLE resort to SNAG it before someone else does. I own at Boardwalk, Beach Club, and Saratoga, but if I had MY way I would be 80/20 ... OKW/BoardWalk.

If your used to staying at nicer resorts it is well worth it. If you are happy staying at value resorts I'm not so sure, since the annual dues are over $600 a year for the minimum 150 points DVC will sell you which is roughly the cost of a week stay at a value resort.
