Does anyone know what's going on with the Steam Trains? Supposedly Casey Jr will be running (that's what Disney said when I called them directly). Also, is the Monorail supposed to be running one way?

Casey Jr. is back up and running, after having some issues with its chain lift, which placed the ride in "TBD" status until they figured out the problem and did the repairs.

Other options, Knott's Berry Farm in nearby Buena Park has a few trains, the Main circuit, which is a classic Narrow Gauge Train (Some old Denver and Rio Grande trains and engines), plus on selected (slow) days, the Galloping Goose, a classic way to get things done during the depression...

    <a href="http://www.gallopinggoose.org/" target="_blank">http://www.gallopinggoose.org/</a>

Then there is the Mine Train Ride, another classic

They also have a Kids Steam Engine that operates at Camp Snoopy, a great place for kids in general.

He might also love riding a real Stagecoach...

And at just $14.95 for kids 3 thru 11, it is a good deal.

You can find discoutns for adults at...

Another option, riding a real train...

You can take the local bus from the Pedistrian Entrance to Disneyland on Harbor (Route 43 northbound) to the Fullerton station, and then take either the Amtrak or a Metrolink to somewhere like Union Station (or another close by location), if you go to Union Station, you could ride the subway/trolley (both the Red Line and the Gold Line leave Union Station).
