I'm hoping that maybe later on they will change the name of the show to simply, "Betty". I understand all about the lessons in the show and all that, I just don't like the ugly in the title, because she isn't, and it's just a mean word to use in describing someone. A girl can dream....

She already has a Disney connection, by the way--she was one of the dance team girls in the Disney Channel movie Gotta Kick It Up, which starred Susan Egan.

I'm always impressed when a pilot episode can sort of stand on its own. 'Ugly Betty' was like a very well done one act play.

Not speaking spanish, I've never watched a novella, so maybe much of the acting is supposed to be a bit campy.

Betty is a gem, but the only other person I liked was her father. Don't know if I'll give it more time or not.
