Here is a link to a pdf showing the layout of the resort:

Yes, his daughter does, but the "vbdad" existed before that started. His original purchase with DVC had Vero Beach as his home resort. He still combines almost any trip to WDW with a trip to Vero Beach. He's a friend of mine on Facebook and I told him of your question via Facebook mail. He doesn't hang out here much anymore (as most moderate conservatives don't) but I expect once he sees the message he will respond.

I liked that, because it is a smaller resort, there aren’t several valets waiting as you pull up, as there are at the Grand California and some of the other resorts. The check in was painless – no line, the cast member was very friendly and gave lots of information and suggestions. We were in a room in the main building, so we were directed to the underground parking. There were plenty of luggage carts near the elevator to pack our luggage upstairs – no need to wait for a bell man and give him a tip. The room was nice, not quite as big as DVC studio, but bigger than a lot of hotel rooms. Had a fridge, a coffee maker, even a toaster. A small balcony with an ocean view. Found out that DVC has complimentary laundry rooms for those staying in studios (we have always stayed in one or two bedroom units before). Shutters was nice, grounds well kept. Good pool and slide. Lots of activities for younger kids.

Cons – wireless internet was spotty, as well cell phone service. Not sure there is enough for older kids to stay active for more than a few days.

Unless you really like the beach or eating or dining in a beach town, can’t really recommend this resort. Probably could have gotten the same effect by staying at the Beach Club Villas, and taken the day off from going to the parks and relaxing in the room and by the pool.

I never understood the location choice. Vero Beach just isn't a huge tourist draw. It would have been better off being further south or on the gulf coast by Naples.

It is a small hotel - only 211 rooms I think and I don't think they made the most of the oceanfront - much too wedded to the architectural style that was being pastiched (the Northeastern seaboard hotels of the 1900s). It is pleasant enough though.

I prefer the even smaller Hilton Head Island property I think.
