With everyone staying at 40% off (in other words, almost what the resorts are worth) and no one buying anything this isn't a surprise ... but it sure isn't good news except for those of us who are waiting for the price per share to hit $10, so we can buy ... lots!

... oh well, at least on the bright side that news has prevented people from noticing all the layoffs that have been happening in plain sight at WDW the past few weeks.

~Wonder where Richie gets his info ... perhaps a dose of 'screen' magic?~

Your "glee" in all of this is almost sickening...

I really wish things were different.

    But they aren't ...

I do KNOW that Greenfield's downgrade on TWDC stock came down today. And that is BIG. That will cause the stock to FALL!

The WFTV deal was the first story (and it barely qualifies) that mentions what I have said for a while about layoffs, even if it still gave less info than I have.

So ... while none of this may be surprising or good ... it is all news and current.

    ~Time for some Disney Dreamin!~

Analyst upgrades and downgrades are meaningless. Why didn't this guy have a sell rating on the shares all throughout the past year? Now that they've lost half their value, he decides it's time to sell? Not the kind of guy I want making my investment decisions.

Analyst ratings on stocks are rarely ever timely.

I know one thing. I was at WDW a few weeks ago and there was no sign of a recession at the Magic Kingdom. On the contrary, I was disappointed it was so crowded.

Loved the fireworks show...and thought the early parade was entertaining enough. (Kids loved it...and that is how I judge the parades.)

I have liked the plusses to some of my favorite attractions (new overhaul of the Jungle Cruise boats, Depp in Pirates, new touches to Mansion, etc.)

Again, maybe I'm less critical now but I don't think so. I'm still pretty critical of my other former employers/parks (such as Cedar Point) so I don't think it is my eye.

Same with the toys, my kids play with my old Disney toys. Most of the newer ones break within a couple of weeks.

It's not just all the sequels, cleanliness issues, or synergistic activities that get to me.

Can you really point to Disney as directly influencing this? I find the same quality issues at nearly ever national retailer/company. The manufacturing sources for clothes and other goods have all shifted overseas in the past two decades. Can you even find a supplier of clothing/toys/you name it that will manufacture products of a certain quality level anymore? I'm not sure it's even possible. Even when I'm shopping at "high end" stores, I notice that the quality of goods is far from where it used to be a decade ago.

Also let's get children who can act slightly better then say cough *Suite Life*, how can you bond to characters with such stilted acting. Let's have stars that don't speak badly of Disney, or provide bad roll modelling while having a private Disneyland party. Also vintage Disney screamed "America", new Disney screams "California". California is a sizeable part of US of A, but please lets have some more diversity. Also not all people from the South are hicks...

Maybe it is because we rarely get anything else.
