From what I've heard. (NOTE THIS DOES NOT MAKE FACT)

These charges were brought up on him by two women who found out that he was sleeping with both of them.

Which is certainly not illegal but does give an indication of what kind of scumbag this guy is. All he cares about is his own satisfaction with absolutely no regard to what it does to other people. And he is doing it on a more massive scale than anyone else in the history of the world. I truly believe the man does not deserve to live.

Ticker Guy pointed out recently that NOBODY was talking about actually executing this guy until he said he had stuff on one of the TBTF banks. Odd, that.

Why, because he published stuff that was obtained illegally? If you're looking for a traitor, shouldn't you be looking for the people who released the classified material to him in the first place? I could be wrong, but I don't think he obtained that information himself.

Only if you live in a world of "black and white" and can't comprehend shades of gray.

Of course they don't - he spills secrets about them that they don't want in the open. That doesn't automatically make him a "turd".

You seem to be glossing over the "IF" part - as usual. You really do have trouble with the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing, don't you?

Of course it doesn't. Since when is state popularity a measuring stick of what kind of person someone is? I guess Jesus was a turd too.

I'm still trying to figure out why you're so upset about this guy, and not the people actually passing him this information?

Yes, they are. So I'll ask a third time - why isn't everyone angry, and on a witch hunt, for whoever spilled the secrets to Assange?

As far as I know, he doesn't have direct access to ANY of this information - someone had to slip it to him. So why are we all pissed off at him?

Assange's leaking of information has undoubtedly caused many deaths and will continue to do so in the future. I consider him a mass murderer without remorse, and as such he deserves to die.

I disagree - truly classified information is not normally sent through normal Internet channels. While it may be easy for an insider to pass on this information, it does normally take someone with inside access to get it. So, someone has to be leaking this information - and for that, they should be punished. (Punishment clearly will vary depending on the level of classification, and the harm done by leaking it.)

I really haven't been following WikiLeaks much over the years, but what deaths are you talking about? What information has been released that has caused deaths enough for you to call him a "mass murderer"? Surely not the current crop of State Department leaks that everyone is upset about? I'm not aware of any deaths caused by those leaks.

Doing a quick read-through of the Wikipedia article on Wikileaks, one thing that might have lead to some deaths could have been the Afghan Diary releases - but even then, there's not direct proof that anyone was killed because of those releases. And according to the article, the group actually has been attempting to remove names from the documents to help keep people safe.

I'm not saying that they were right to release this stuff - they obviously shouldn't be releasing classified and/or private information. But, I'm just not seeing the mass amounts of death and destruction that is causing you to hate this guy so much.
