But something was different after the first two times! The Yeti was fully illuminated, you could see all of him and it was really cool that way. The third and last time, there was a strobe light on him. Is it different each time or is this still a part of testing? It wasnt nearly as good with the strobe effects in my opinion.

Perhaps that's what you saw? I haven't seen it myself yet.

Most complex animatronics have several modes of operation, depending on the status of the controls.

Another question: does anyone know if the Yeti is hydrolic or what?

Most AA's are hydraulic, because hydraulics can deliver more force than pneumatics. However, there are some AA's that use pneumatics (Indiana Jones in front of the rolling boulder, Teddi Bearra, possibly the Tiki birds) because they are directly above the guests. Although it does not happen often, hydraulic AA's do occasionally leak the fluid, and Disney does not want any of that to land on a geust.

I geuss my point is I really don't know, but it depends on how far over the train the yeti comes, and how much of it is covered by a part of the cave. I have not been on EE yet, so I really can't tell, but if it is mostly above another surface, and you just pass on the level below it, I would bet on hydraulics, and if it is mostly leaning out over the trains I would bet on pneumatics. There is also the possibility of both, using hydraulics in a protected area, and pneumatics in the areas that go over the geusts.
