Look at that picture though! Come on!

Debonair, sophisticated and handsome standing next to Tom just accentuates his lack of those qualities.

I also read that they were in WDW's DTD yesterday. Seems like they're checking in on all the big projects (I would assume they're also visiting DAK while they're there, but most of that work is offstage)

I hope so too. Maybe all the Star Wars land at Disneyland Anaheim rumours are false and it will come to DHS instead.

And how can we forget Bob's most infamous casual look? Seems like Tom was able to dress himself okay that day:

At least they both dress like adults, unlike a certain Disney bigwig:

Curiously, there don't appear to be any press releases about this, nor has his bio on Disney's website been changed to reflect it. I'll be curious to see if this turns out to be true; I don't think Tom would be able to hold onto both positions on his own

He will still be around for a few weeks more, so it seems like an amicable-enough departure, but I can't help but think that this was meddling from the Board. Although he seemed to be a safe choice, I think he would have done a good job as CEO

I can only hope that this doesn't mean that Iger's resignation gets pushed back for a third time. He was supposed to be gone years ago, and I can hardly wait for him to leave in 2018. The silver lining to this whole thing may be that his ultimate replacement comes from outside TWDC, which would hopefully mean a fresh approach to running the company, without such a heavy focus on tentpole/franchise films...but that seems like a longshot

Some speculate that Sheryl Sandber from Facebook might be in the lead now. I hope that's not true. I would like to see someone from the entertainment industry. Now that Staggs is gone, what about Kathleen Kennedy?

Iger has played it safe for a long time, and Staggs would most likely just continue on that path; Staggs has been in line to be CEO since Eisner was in charge, so there's very little 'new' about him or the way he thinks

I know that Sheryl Sandberg is a darling in trendy business circles, but I haven't been particularly impressed with anything she (or anyone from the FB team) has done to date. I don't think it absolutely needs to be someone from the entertainment industry, but that sure would help with knowledge of many aspects of the business

Didn't Kathleen Kennedy go on record saying that she wanted to stay at Lucasfilm to work with the creative folks there? Perhaps she was just being modest and making a political move, but she seems happy to continue doing what she does (and she's very good at it, so it would be a shame to lose her from that role)
