Hello Everyone: For quite some time we've planned on updating our boards to a more modern and maintainable system, but we did not plan on doing it just yet. Due to some major technical issues that cropped up with our old server, we were forced to make the change now. We got it done as best as we could as fast as possible and here is the result. We're not done yet. More changes are coming to the configuration here. But we feel it's to the point where we can open things back up and get the boards running again. Some very important things to note: We were able to import most, but not all existing users. The new system requires that every account use a unique email address. Our old system allowed multiple accounts to have the same email. So if multiple accounts had the same email, we were only able to import one. There were also a few other situations in which accounts could not be imported. Therefore, if you're not able to log into your account, the first thing you should do is use the "Forget Password" link and enter your email address. If the email doesn't exist, the system will let you know. Just create a new account. if the email is sent, use it to create your password then use this link to change your username to whatever you'd like it to be: http://laughingplace.com/discussion/account/change-username Please be sure to check your spam filter for password reset and new account confirmation emails as they sometimes end up there. We were able to import all existing messages. But because we were not able to import all usernames, we were not able to associate each message with the user who created it. So instead we updated each message to include the username of the original poster at the top of the message. We've changed some of our discussion sections. Some have been combined and there are some new ones as well. As always, we welcome your feedback. I went ahead and did it for you. For anyone else, just click your username in the upper right and select Change Username...
We do not currently have a Trip Countdown option though we would like to bring it back at some point.
@Doobie Does Watched Forums allow users to bookmark the forums they want to follow? If so how does it work? Thanks in advance.
It's definitely been awhile since I've posted on LP! But it's always fun to cover events for the site!
Clicking "Watch Forum" will allow you to be notified whenever a new thread and/or messages are posted in that thread. When you click you have the option of how to be notified.
Thanks for everything Doobie. At first I was going to chastise you for not letting us know what all was going on with the boards. Now that I see all that you've done, wow, just wow. Thanks for the commitment and hard work.

I will! I never posted a huge amount of discussion but loved to follow the threads. And when people started disappearing I was discouraged, I sure hope this will bring some of the ones that left back to our boards.
