It's not too hard to find something ft card deals (like a $50 card for $45 at Target), and those can be used nearly anywhere in the parks. The Dining Plan has far more restrictions, and only really has value if you would eat 1-2 table service meals per day, which is unlikely for most guests

If you have a Target Visa card you can use the 5% discount on Target store purchases towards pre-paid gift card purchases. Unless that's changed within the last couple of years.
