Okay last several movies I've seen The Seven Samurai-An all time favorite never fails to entertain. A+ The Force Awakens-I love this more with each viewing. A Creed-Terrific movie. A Deadpool-Violent, vulgar and very funny. A- Ex-Machina-A very smart film with great performances by Oscar Isaac, Alicia Vikander and Dominhall Gleeson Jurassic World-The true sequel to Jurassic Park. Not as groundbreaking but still well done. B+ Spotlight- A tough film to watch given its subject matter. Great performance by Michael Keaton, though bogged down by Mark Ruffalo's. ACTING. B+ The Hateful Eight-Overlong, needlessly gore and ultimately pointless. D The Revenant-Looks pretty but pretty empty. Extremely boring. And DiCaprio won for basically reenacting the quaalude scene from Wolf of Wall Street. D- Fantastic Four(2015)-Starts out kind of promising but then goes down hill really quick really fast. One of the most inept films I've seen. F
The Invitation - Great concept but ultimately disappointing. Started off so creepy but couldn't keep it going. Sicario - This movie had such high praise. It was fine enough to watch, but I don't get what the point was supposed to be. I suppose just a condemnation of the war on drugs, but that's not what I saw. And the very ending, kind of stupid? What's the big deal? Sign it, it's coercion anyway. E-Dreams - As someone who lived through the dot bomb era (from the sidelines, but watching intently), love this film. Flight 7500: Delivered what it promised. I love any movie that takes place on an airplane Kidnapping Mr. Heineken: Not as good as I hoped, but pretty good. The Walk: Good, slightly disappointing. Think I would've liked it a lot more in theaters.
Star Wars - The Force Awakens BluRay It definitely has its flaws, e.g. similarities to A New Hope, but it's still a great movie and so much better than the Prequels. Mission Impossible V - Rogue Nation BluRay In my opinion it's the best movie of the franchise and it is always great to see the home country in a movie. Gone In 60 Seconds Netflix I know that it's not the best movie, but it is still very entertaining. I wish Disney would still produce such movies. Die Hard Wit A Vengeance (Die Hard 3) DVD Best movie of the franchise, but I didn't know that it was a Disney movie over here.
Captain America Civil War or The First Avenger Civil War as it is called over here. Cinema Nachos and Beer Fantastic movie and I'm sure Americans will enjoy the movie a lot when it starts on the weekend.
Round of applause for someone who is still using the original format. I'm so proud of this little thread that I started 13 years ago. Except I can't believe it was 13 years ago. OMG.
Pocahontas Disney Jr. at home Bratwurst and broccoli This is so not one of my favorites. It had been so long I figured, "why not?" Meh.
The Big Short At home / PPV The Academy Award Best Picture nominee tells the story of the events leading up to the big crash of 2008. Very well done with some really interesting techniques. Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt all put in great performances.
Deadpool Home/xfinity Carrots I enjoyed it quite a bit, except for the torture bit which I closed my eyes, plugged my ears, and hummed during. DH said he was glad we didn't pay to see it in the theaters, so I guess he was not such a fan. But I think there was quite a bit he missed just not being American and knowing all the slang.
Independence Day TV I loved the movie as a kid and it's still very entertaining, but it couldn't convince me to watch the new one.
I just watched Zootopia. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I'll probably end up adding it to my collection.
Star Trek Beyond IMAX 3D OV Cinema Beer and nachos What a great Trek movie. Definitely as good as Into Darkness and Star Trek.
Condemned Netflix vanilla pudding with chocolate chips Very bad supposedly zombie flick Not recommended unless you are really into gross teen-type slasher/gore stuff
