There really isn't much that can be done to either beyond some cosmetic changes. They are both courtyard hotels in a largely unappealing part of town. The neighbourhood is mainly schools and apartment buildings so not the best environment for a hotel.

A lot of folks won't know that Brighton is an OLC brand - they have 4 hotels that they operate under the brand including the Urayasu one.

It isn't a big anniversary and the resort is focused on the new land in TDS and the Fantasyland expansion. I was also surprised that they are keeping a lot of the seasonal entertainment too.

This also seems to answer a common question about the US versions: during the special promotion (Seasons of the Force in the US), the new scene(s?) will be in every ride. Once the promotion is over, it will be mixed in with all the other randomized ones. That approach makes a lot of sense to me

Although some of the hotel's perks sound pretty minor by US standards (park entry 15 minutes early, ability to park hop on first day of multiday ticket), they are big advantages at TDR. It's amazing to think about how those little things would have greatly changed the way we visited the parks in 2014

I'm still not a fan of the hotel's décor. The mural in the guest room looks like something you'd find at a daycare center, and the furnishings are as bland as they come. It won't be a bad place to stay, but it sure doesn't seem to match the level of the other Disney hotels around the world (even the Paradise Pier looks more themed)

I agree with you on the look, but isn't the hotel supposed to be a budget hotel?

If you've been to the TDL Easter event in 2014 or 2015, you'll instantly recognize the music as being from the parade. I think that's the point - marketing toward people that have seen it before, with a "come back for the fun one more time" idea.

So it looks like plans have changed somewhat from last year. No mention of the formerly announced Alice area going where iasw is now. Instead, it seems the new FL theater and BH6 attraction are going where they were going to build the new iasw.

Soarin' also seems a bit random and unexpected, despite it having been long rumored on these boards. I was scrolling down the press release expecting to read about the new Scandinavian port...not sure whether that is still a go or not.

I wondered about the Scandinavian Port too, but according to the press release, these plans aren't cancelled yet.

The wording of the press release seems to suggest that anything else besides what was just announced will be for 2021 and beyond. I'm guessing they weren't completely satisfied with the original plans and needed more time to determine the best use of that land.
