That Trump supporter - seeing him helps me understand the typical profile of a Trump supporter.

I don't imagine I'd want to hang with that guy - or him with me for that matter - LOL!

Cruz is not a very skilled politician. I'm sure he thought that this would be a great moment for him, and result in making him look presidential. And as much of a jerk as that Trump supporter is (no surprise) it makes Cruz look disconnected and desperate and creepily robotic. The clip is also a great reminder of the terrible choice Republican voters are now left with -- the choice between boorish and obnoxious.

When you think back to GOP folks like Bob Dole, George HW Bush, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford -- these are people who ultimately were reasonable and had some discernible belief system. You may or may not have agreed with their politics, but it's hard not to see the difference between them and the low brow, rage-feuled, gross GOP candidates of today. That clip is the perfect example of the state of the GOP today, and it's depressing and scary. It should go in a time capsule.

With the new format, as a "preview" it shows the first x-number of words of a thread and then an ellipses, and then the last contributor.

So on this one what I saw was "Ted Cruz takes on...Kar2oonman."

And all I could think was "Cruz is goin' DOWN!" :D

I feel bad for the writers of SNL because there's no way they could come up with some of this stuff.

Well, much like with the skewering of Sarah Palin by Tina Fey, the GOP clown show almost doesn't need to be written at all. Just imitate, because it's already rich in irony and comedic gold.
