I'm of mixed emotions on this...on the one hand, it's fun for me to watch since I kinda hate all those republicans and it's fun for me to watch them trash the Trumpster.

On the other hand, folks who love Trump will only love him more, watching all those losers complain about him.

And the rest of the bunch, I'm guessing, won't care one way or the other since it's not all that compelling.

I think this is the wrong angle for the Democrats to take, honestly. As typically tone-deaf as any campaign without an Obama at the helm.

    Thoughts?

I think it's an interesting strategy aimed at Republicans who formerly supported any candidate other than Trump. Make them think before they just roll over and support the frontrunner. Capitalizing as fast as possible on movements like #ImWithHer

I think it's aimed at a very specific group of people - those Republicans who can't in good conscience bring themselves to vote for Trump.

For sure, that's a niche. But some are coming out in no uncertain terms.

If Trump is nominated, the GOP must keep him out of the White House (George Will)

Former top McCain aide: I'll vote for Clinton over Trump

    O’Reilly: I can’t be a Republican any more

Granted, the words of these establishment types won't make a bit of difference to Trump acolytes, and neither will this video. But both are indications that there IS a slice of the GOP who can't stomach Trump and won't vote for him. That's who this is aimed at. It would have cost almost nothing to produce, and AFAIK they're not spending money to air it traditionally, relying on Twitter, youtube, and then having it appear as "free media" when news shows air it. So it's essentially free, and aimed at a slice of the populace that would normally vote Republican, and might be persuaded to vote for Clinton this time, or stay home.

I agree this is not the sort of "major message" they should be focusing on if this were October. But with certain Republicans soured on Trump, this was a good time to get something like this out there to solidify this niche message of "this guy is not you, Sensible Republicans," before they might decide to hold their noses and support him. It's a niche message, but it's still millions of people, it's free, it's May, and I put it in the "can't hurt" category.

A helpful summary of some of the things Republicans of this ilk have been saying.

Meet the Republicans speaking out against Trump

They have probably zero influence with the Trumpistas. But they do have influence in a certain crowd (including some of my family). It's not nothing.
