Cheap and easy like Star Wars land? But hey. if as cast member confirmed it...

  2. Actually, the rumor was apparently started from someone in Imagineering.

Are you KIDDING?? They have two relatively minor attractions... a Frozen Sing-Along and a Seasonal Event, Frozen Summer Fun. Both are more than likely cheap and easy temporary replacements for the huge number of attractions that have been closed for Star Wars and Pixar Place construction. Don't fall into the Disneylandfan85 mode of paranoid over-reaction.

I'm not talking about attractions, but rather the saturation of Frozen characters, banners, parades, meet n greets, etc.. Frozen was prominently displayed on the DHS park guide's cover last summer. I found it to be annoying. I can understand a new movie bring hyped at the parks, but Frozen was old news last summer.

Have the Frozen banners, parades, etc. been replaced with Star Wars at DHS? Hopefully so.

I agree that Frozen was really being hyped on the Park Guide when I was there last fall. But unless you sought the stuff out it was pretty easy to ignore. I saw it primarily as an attempt to take some of the insane pressure off the Frozen Meet & Greet at the MK that was generating 4 hour waits. I guess I consider all such things to be "kid stuff" and being almost 64 years old it is easy for me to ignore. :)

  7. I hope the source of this information wasn't those two young AP girls he rode Mickey's Fun Wheel with that one time. Then I'll really start to worry.

  8. By the way, from what I hear from reputable sources, a Frozen ride and possibly a Beauty and the Beast attraction, are likely going to be taking over Toontown as part of a Fantasyland expansion that'll get under way about when Star Wars Land opens.

  9. No, not this time. It apparently came from someone in Imagineering.

APPARENTLY... according to WHO? Unless an Imagineer gave his/her name and agreed to be quoted, it doesn't mean a thing. When will you learn that a rumor is just a rumor??

I think those AP girls have WDI connections. Really.

Yes, it's all Star Wars all the time now. Between the new stage show (which appears to be predictably awful, at least from videos), Launch Bay, interactive moments with Stormtroopers, and fireworks, it's the new flavor du jour of the park, and seems like it will stay that way for at least a couple years until new things start to open up

While it's great that they have a place where they can promote the current trends, I couldn't help but notice that the park had a "going out of business" feel to it. Instead of having meaningful additions, these are all just cheap quick fixes that were hastily thrown together, and it feels like it. I realize that worthwhile additions usually take a long time to prepare, but what's there now just feels tacky. Plus, if you aren't a huge fan of Star Wars, there's really nothing about the current stuff that's especially appealing. So far at least, I think DCA did a much better job managing it's new and changing entertainment acts during their redo than WDW is doing

DHS has less rides now than USH.

  14. This person who revealed the rumor claimed that it came from a few sources involved with Imagineering. In fairness to you, however, said sources did not give their names nor were quoted. I imagine if they did, they would get in trouble for revealing secrets.

They don't. They're just a couple of guests like me.

I would love to see everything but Roger Rabbit bulldozed in favor of just about anything new. Toontown is just not worth it any more. The original promise of the land faded almost immediately. Sigh. And Disneyland--more than any other Disney property now or ever--is about ride Attractions. Bring on more!

This is so vague, it's pretty much the very definition of "needs to be taken with a grain or 10 of salt, and certainly nothing to get worked up about."

I can see a Frozen attraction in Fantasyland as it's based on a fairy tale, but the characters aren't "toons". So unless Fantasyland completely takes over Toontown, Frozen doesn't fit there.

This! Even though I had not been back in 12 years, there was very little that was new. Other than the Toy Story attraction and the updated Star Tours, I can't think of anything that was new there. And to clarify, I'm still talking about DHS and not DLR.

  20. They will be completely taking over.
