I think they should rename DHS to something else. Maybe "Frozenland".

 

Aren't they supposed to be renaming it? Have they ever actually said what it's going to be called? I still call it MGM, just like I still call Port Orleans Dixie Landings.

 

That m&greet space just screams 'cheap'..

Of course it does. It is just a cheap temporary thing to give people SOMETHING to do while all the attractions are down for construction of Star Wars and Pixar Place.

 

All the more reason to drop a few hard earned grand on family trip to the World.

 

There are three other parks. We skip DHS frequently in recent years anyway.

Our last visit a while back, we visited all the parks except MGM.

Not really on purpose, it just wasn't very compelling, and our time was limited.

(during that trip, we visited Epcot twice)

 

I was a little underwhelmed with the other three. Yeah, there was some new stuff, but also a lot of old stuff that was really stale. I now wish we had made some time to go to Universal.

 

Different strokes... I think Epcot is Disney's BEST U.S. park. Yes, it is feeling a little stale and could use an update. But there is still so much there to like. Animal Kingdom is more evocative of place than any other Disney Park. It is not a "rides park", but a park to walk around and savor the experience. Magic Kingdom is not as good a park as Disneyland, but it is almost always much less crowded. On balance it is a pretty good trade.

 

Of the four, I like AK the best. MK, for me, lacks DL's charm; but the extra elbow room is always welcome. Epcot has some good stuff; but the World Pavilion underwhelms me.

 

I assume you are talking about the World Showcase... to me that is the absolute best part of Epcot.

 

Having been to a few of the nations portrayed there, I find the Showcase to be underwhelming. For some reason this last time I went it felt extra fake.

 

I don't think they're going so much for what authentic modern versions of these countries are like, but it's more about highlighting what's unique about these countries historically. Modern day Mexico City probably has more in common with modern day NYC than it does with the Mexico Pavillon, but who wants to see that? I prefer to see distinctive architecture and culture.

 

I agree 100%. Modern cities are modern cities no matter where they are. I like seeing the historical depictions in Epcot!
