Best Table Service value in the World Showcase?

I would have to vote for the Nine Dragons restaurant. It used to have the reputation of being way overpriced, but the other Showcase restaurant prices have increased so much that Nine Dragons is really quite reasonable. I think the food is high quality, the restaurant is gorgeous, and the service is generally excellent. Add to this the fact that you can usually get a table without a reservation and I think it is a winner! Which Showcase restaurant do you like best when it comes to value?

As a Chinese American, I have to say that because of its previous reputation, I have never set a toe in Nine Dragons. Best value? I have no idea. I haven't been to WDW in years and years. I still fondly remember my last meal at the now closed/renamed Bistro de Paris. It definitely wasn't cheap, but I felt it was worth the money. Delish!

If you ever do try it I would be interested to know what you think of it. I've heard people say that it is somewhat more authentic than what is usually served in American Chinese restaurants. Of course I have no way of telling if that is true or not, which is why I would like to hear from someone with a Chinese background. :)

Just looking at the menu on Allears, it's definitely still geared towards American tastes, but honestly, I wouldn't expect anything different ... and there is nothing wrong with that. Good food is good food. Tell me, do they serve family-style, or are entrees placed in front of the diner who ordered it?

Entrees are placed in front of the person who ordered it. My wife and I will typically order things we both like and then share. Appetizers are typically shared. :)

Meh. I'm preferable to New England Chinese Food myself. :D

Nine Dragons is on my "someday" list, though. Having suffered through "Japanese Chinese" food, and even "Chinese Chinese" food in Hong Kong, I'm always *dying* to get back to the good old fashioned American version! Unfortunately, my next experience might end up being "Shanghai Chinese" food sometime soon, though I'm sure it will suffer in comparison.

p.s. I regret I can't contribute a "best value" recommendation as I haven't been there in quite a while, but I *love* the topic. Thanks RT!

I saw a menu for a lunch set/combo at Nine Dragons that looked pretty reasonable to me. It was something like a salad, soup, entrée with side, and dessert for less than $20. For theme park table service, that price is hard to beat. It's one of the few places in World Showcase that I haven't eaten at (due to its former reputation, I'd rather try the others first), but I'm definitely intrigued by it

While they aren't cheap, both I think that both Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo are pretty good value. Their prices aren't much higher than similar restaurants outside of the parks, and their quality and service are of the highest quality (not surprising, since they're run by Mitsukoshi). I also think that the quick service location in Japan has some of the best deals in WDW, and darn good food too!
