And what was he "right" about, anyway? That it's a bad thing? Well no kidding, Sherlock. Tough talk is easy. An intelligent response is much harder, and that would obviously elude him. Sadly, most of his supporters will mistake the former for the latter, as he himself seem to do.
Trump was wrong about saying the shooter was born in Afghanistan; he was born in New York. And the shooter was a confused and conflicted gay man who chose to act out his self-hatred on others in the worst way possible. The shooter could have been raised strict Roman Catholic or evangelical Baptist and the end result would have been the same: violent self-loathing leading to suicide and mass murder, all created and nurtured by twisted religious dogma that preaches hell and damnation for queers. Trump and his followers are the very reason guys like this shooter do what they do. And giving these people super duper easy access to auto and semi-auto weaponry is beyond dipped in stupid.
I think this week really showed that the orange emperor wannabe has no clothes. The bluster and nonsense shows what a truly unserious candidate he is, and how uniquely unqualified he is to be the president. He's all "attitude" which might work for, say, Axe deodorant products. But he is about as well informed as Sarah Palin when it comes to dealing with international and domestic issues facing us. Years from now, people will be quite ashamed they ever entertained the notion of this ridiculous, clownish know-nothing anywhere near the White House. Speaking of brands, the GOP is going to have one hell of a job trying to rebrand itself after this campaign is over. Absolutely a crap show that looks firmly ready for 1956. "We're the party to trust with economy, a steady hand at the wheel" rings extra false when candidates include the bunch of kooks they went with this time around.
I never understood how they got away with that anyway, given the fact that for the past 25 years the economy has fared far better under Democratic administrations. Branding, I suppose.
In related news, here's why Trump doesn't brag about his poll numbers these days. Donald Trump doesn't brag about his poll numbers anymore, and no wonder
