retlawfan's annual railroad meet celebrating DL's birthday

Hello Folks!

I will be continuing my annual tradition of hosting a meet at the Disneyland railroad this July 17th. It will once again begin at 10am at the Main Street Station.

Because the Railroad is out of service, and there is not a group of meets occurring, it will be the starting point of a railroad "crawl". For all those wanting to follow along, we will begin at the Main Street Station, continue with a visit to the New Orleans Station, ride Big Thunder Railroad, ride Casey Junior, and complete the tour of Walt's rails with a round trip on the Monorail.

Wish I could be there! Don't forget to ride the horse car--Imagineer Earl Vilmer, who supervised construction of the railroad under Roger Broggie, also supervised construction of this rail attraction as well!

I do hope this came off well. I so wish we could have made it but we just came home from Seattle on the 16th and before that had spent 3 weeks traveling to Michigan.
Please, please, please keep up the tradition next year as we are planning on buying AP's in September.

 

Thanks to all who showed up. It was a fun time. We ended up with 14 to ride the rails. Check back here in a couple days for some photos!

 

Will there be a meet this year? I was thinking it would be kind of special being 7/17/2017! Sorry I'm so confused with this new LP I dint know where to post anymore but I was hoping Rob would see this!!!

Oh, we really, really, really, really, really would love to be there. It has been too long. But our summer is pretty packed what with a granddaughter graduating high school, a total eclipse near Portland and camp Pickanosee in Washington and a roadtrip to Michigan. We will see as the time gets nearer.

 

It looks like we will, in all likelihood, be there this year.
Please say it is going to happen! Really hoping to see some folks we have not seen in some time.
