Post election, I fully expect Trump to try to capitalize on his new fan base by teaming up with some on the fringe right (Breitbart owner, Hannity, Ailes, Limbaugh, Falwell, Dobson, Ben Carson, etc.) to create a network for the people who don't think Fox News goes far enough. Remember when Bill Clinton was president? Remember how that led to the rise in popularity of people like Limbaugh? Just wait....you ain't seen nothin' yet.
The repeal of the Fairness Doctrine had even more to do with it. People like Limbaugh couldn't do that on the radio before then. Wouldn't apply to cable channels though, even if reinstated.
Three more weeks until we find the answer to this thread. My hope is that somehow, Trump comes to his senses and decides to lose with dignity. I'm not sure dignity is in his DNA. I've never seen a person above the age of say 4, who lies with such bluster and bravado, which only highlights that he is obviously lying. It's sad and comical that a man at his age is, in the end, so dumb and shallow. The constant pronouncements that he is the best in any and all things is unlike anything I've seen on the national stage outside of pro wrestling. And the wrestlers are in on the joke! All that said, for the good of the nation, and so no one winds up getting hurt or causing chaos, I hope someone is able to get Trump to do the right thing for everyone's best interests.
I totally agree but his current behavior does not suggest that there is an ounce of care for anyone's interest but his own.
Ruh-roh, Reorge. I didn't remember Trump being this unhinged after Romney lost. Probably because I couldn't have given less of a rat's patootie what he had to say at the time if I'd tried. But now that I see his comments from Election Night 2012... www.cnn.com/2016/10/18/politics/donald-trump-rigged-vote-twitter-2012/index.html ... if he was this unhinged after Romney lost, I'm not exactly liking our chances of a gracious concession speech on Election Night.
Today's edition of "Donald Trump is an Ass". (Well, the preliminary edition anyway. The headliner is tonight.) Donald Trump Is on a Presidential Death March We’ve Never Seen Before
I thought it was funny that Donald Trump was mocking Hillary for prepping for tonight's debate. The guy hasn't done his homework the last two times, and clearly hasn't this time, and he has yet to decisively win a debate. His poll numbers continue to drop like a rock, and yet he still laughs at her for prepping. (Actually, he said she's resting, taking naps, because, you know, she has no stamina.) If we could harness the arrogance of Trump we'd never run out of natural gas.
And, as always, imagine if the roles were reversed, with Hillary making catty commentary off the cuff, doing no prep work. And Trump tucked away with a debate team getting ready. Can you imagine the things she'd be called? I bet you can.
Holy crap. If you watched the debate, you know what I'm referring to. Tomorrow we'll see if Paul Ryan and other Republicans show some actual courage and break with him for good. Not holding my breath, but wouldn't that be a nice thing to see? Flipping around the channels, and it's pretty much all the commentators are talking about. Steve Schmidt, McCain's campaign Manager, basically said that if you don't pledge to respect the results of an election, you've disqualified yourself as a candidate. Hoping more Republicans find their backbones and say the same thing.
Lindsay Graham also came out with a strongly worded statement. So the Republicans only have to say they agree with their fellow GOP Congressman. If they can't even do that, we've got a BIG problem. Because this is no longer about Democrats vs Republicans this is about the very foundations of our Republic. And Trump is right that Russia and Iran will take full advantage of the weaknesses within our country. Insert Abraham Lincoln's sage warning.
Well, any slim hope that Trump would consider going out with a little decorum and dignity is out the window I guess. I will be surprised if this election is even close. Trump should have only agreed to 30 minute debates. At 31 minutes, he reverts back into the love child of Yosemite Sam and Leona Helmsley every time. For giggles, I tuned into my local Bay Area right wing talk radio station this morning to hear how they might spin this debate. Even there, they expressed barely contained frustration at what a flop The Donald did, blaming it on some form of adult ADHD. The local host said, in regards to Trump not promising to recognize the will of the people, "Oh, get over it!" (Yep, same deep thinking on that channel as always. I assume they went back to their usual 23 hours of All Benghazi Coverage after that.) The morning host used to be the local TV weatherman, and went all-in on far right conspiracy theories, so he found the perfect radio home.
"Trump should have only agreed to 30 minute debates." I said that to a friend of mine earlier. If he'd agreed to 9 30 minute debates (rather than this flip-side) he might've been in much better shape!
<he reverts back into the love child of Yosemite Sam and Leona Helmsley every time.> LOL! Best image today.
LOL (Well, if it weren't so serious.) Both of my daughters called and pointed out how they were scared; for the first half hour. What was it he accused Hillary of???.......................oh yeah, no stamina. I guess all of his meetings with World leaders could have been tailored to his 30 minute attention span. Oh yeah, that was how long my 3 and 6yo boys could sit still. And one of them had ADD Love the GIF. Kind of reminds me of how the Fonze would act when losing his cool and then trying to act like he had been cool the whole time.
I swear Kellyanne must had spiked his pre-debate snifter of Trump Gugalug with 8 or 10 Benadryl caplets. I thought he was going to doze off, Ben Carson style, for a while there. But they wore off.
I love that GIF. He's like the jerky principal in every 80s teen movie that knows he just got outwitted by the wiseacre student.
