One of the #nevertrump conservatives I've been following on Twitter, a guy named Rick Wilson who does oppo research work for Republicans, among other things, has been insisting that an even worse Trump scandal than the bus deal was going to drop before the election. And that the media has been hanging onto it until the time was ripe. Looks like he was right. Later this week."
It's certainly not a good look, but is this actually a surprise to anybody? It just seems to confirm that he's every bit as much of a sleaze ball as we assumed (and he claimed, at various times) he was/is. Although this provides more details (though somewhat unconfirmed) than we had before, it's not out of character for what we've come to expect from him I would be surprised if this really changed anybody's mind about him at this point. Then again, I was surprised by how many people seemed scandalized by the Billy Bush recording, which also reinforced who he claimed to be, so I'm really not sure what to expect at this point
This doesn't seem to be getting much attention (and Trump seems to be closing the gap some in the last couple of days, which is worrisome.) I'm hoping there is indeed a chaser and that it is indeed worth the wait. I'm wondering if print/witness recollections alone are strong enough in today's climate. In previous years, a report like this would have been severely damaging. But today, Trump and acolytes can simply say "all lies!" It's almost like if there isn't audio or video, it never happened (or at least that's what they can claim). There are also statements from former Apprentice staffers that there's tape of Trump somewhere using the N word and other tape of him mocking the deaf actress Marlee Matlin's voice and calling her "retarded." Each of those tapes would be pretty devastating, but I'm wondering if they'll surface in the next two weeks or not.
Not likely. The producer of "The Apprentice" has that footage, and he supports Donald for president. His employees all signed contracts with bonkers penalties for leaking footage.
I know. So I know it's unlikely. There were rumors there for a while that either a). an unnamed deep-pocketed liberal had promised to reimburse the leaker 5 million dollars (the reported amount of the bonkers penalty) if he/she would leak it and his/her name got out, or b). this arrangement had already been consummated, and the Clinton campaign is just waiting for the right moment to leak it. We all know how valuable rumors can be. So I have more hope that Rick Wilson's rumor that you posted is the real deal.
