The Trump can stand up and boast about how avoiding STD's was his own personal Viet Nam! :D

Now that's something I can get behind. Gilbert Godfried as the voice of Trump "taking over the place" is just plain delicious!

Imagineers, don't dismiss it so easily! It could be the runaway hit of the park!

It's not super popular, but it does pull a fairly steady stream of guests all day. I tend to visit during a moderately-quiet time in January and we try to see HOP every year; the audience is always about a third full, which is impressive considering most queues for the headliners are 30 minutes or less. It's not like people are going there because everything else is too busy; they're going there because they think it's interesting

It also has a massive hourly capacity (one of the highest in the park, I believe), which really helps out on those days when they park actually is really crowded. It's nice to have some options like HOP that have reliable wait times, for when everything else gets out of hand. Unless they replace it with another theater-based attraction (which all suffer from varying degrees of (un)popularity), there's really no way they could replace the capacity in the same building footprint. And considering that MK is supposedly the most-visited theme park in the world and WDI is apparently no longer capable of producing ultra-high-capacity attractions, that is a very real concern

Does anyone else wonder if this is the reason that Disney added the Muppets to the outside of the building. Remember when people were upset that in Disneyland the Muppets were going to replace Great Moments with Mr Lincoln. Imagineers are also fond of saying that they never really let go of an idea. Maybe the Muppets get added to the main show at the Hall of Presidents.

I don't think there's any intention of having the Muppets move into the attraction, but I vaguely remember hearing that they wanted to get the Muppet show up and running so that they would have something in that area when HOP closed for its extended refurbishment. It seems like it was budgeted for the entire fiscal year, so I would expect it to run through the end of next September and be quietly retired after that

They've recently designated the area around MuppetVision in the Studios as "Muppet Courtyard", and are currently in the process of redoing the former-Pizza Planet to a Muppet theme. If there are going to be any additional permanent Muppet additions to WDW, I would expect them to be there

An all AA based Muppet show based on American History would be amazing.

AA Trump joins hands with AA Obama and they lead the audience is a rousing rendition of 'Kumbaya.'

Although I'm a Trump supporter, I recognize that a good joke would be, "Hey, and the Donald already has Muppet hair. They won't have to change much!"

Surprised no one else said it.

Quite frankly, I wasn't expecting to be anywhere near WDW for at least four years. Not because of the election, but because while I normally take my Spring vacations on the West Coast every year (San Francisco, Sacramento, sometimes Yosemite or Railtown 1897 SHP, sometimes as far as Seattle, a couple of timesas far as Anchorage, and once as far as Denali National Park), I don't take my Fall vacations in the same place year after year. It's been a while since my last Grand Tour of New England; it's also been a few years since my last trip to Hawaii, and I've never spent more than a few hours at a time in Canada. There are also places in Pennsylvania where I've only had time to barely scratch the surface. Oh, and I've never been to Europe or the Far East.

Having had enough time at the Air & Space this past fall to see the renovations to the entrance gallery, and to the USS Enterprise 11-foot filming model (now with restored lighting effects), I can also live with putting off my next visit to Washington, DC for a few years.

The figure is going to be there forever grinning in the background.

Maybe Disney can put a dark ride in there based on legend of Sleepy Hallow. It would be the perfect place for it next to Mansion and the colonial buildings.

Let's be civil now, as much as it almost makes me nauseous just thinking about it, there are a number of less then stellar past presidents, it's just that the wound isn't as fresh. Of course, he will be in the hall, we are no better then they are if we continuously just ignore the truth and want our individual desires to be force upon the public. I'm still hoping that the current recounts will turn up enough to get the electoral college to change their votes, but, I'm not counting on it. It is almost like watching that little clown car pull up in front of the White House and seeing the cabinet members all climb out. There may be some very comical moments come from this like when the cabinet members all show up for a meeting and the Head Clown is delayed in his commute from NYC.

    >leaving them to use an impersonator< How about Alec Baldwin? :p:p

Seriously, though. They might as well save their time and money on this one. I predict that if they put der Fuehrer in, the figure will either be ripped apart by some righteous fanatic, or the whole attraction will be boycotted. I would have liked to have seen the Hall of Presidents if I ever went to Disney World. That's not happening now.
Wonder what they'll have it say? What could they possibly have it say that won't be offensive in so many ways and emotionally scarring? Children will see it, you know. If they're going to put it in, they might as well get rid of the whole attraction. There's no hope for it, or for our country.

Just remember everyone, your political views belong in the World Events board and not here.

Well, sure, however, the very nature of the thread title is over the top political. So why is it not in World Events anyway.

It is possible to talk about the attraction without commentary about how much you hate the president elect.

How do you have a discussion that doesn't involve the President elect when the entire purpose of the thread is if Disney should go ahead with the way they normally handle a new election based on the fact that they don't think that Mr. Trump should be in there? Isn't that the ultimate in political? I have been saying that, as much as I hate to say it, of course they have to put him in there. Otherwise, we become the whiny little thin skinned jerks trying to force our desire on the public, instead of taking the high road. We cannot not have him in there just because we don't like him.

In other words, it is possible to have a discussion without becoming political UNLESS the entire purpose of the thread is political. That's is what this one is. If I'm wrong, give me one example of what could be discussed that stays within the title of this thread that isn't going to be political or express ones desires and reasons why. I don't think you can do it.

How much YOU personally hate the President-Elect has no bearing on Disney attraction policy. I think we can acknowledge that Trump is a divisive and controversial addition to the HoP, and discuss the ramifications and what Disney should do about it, without constantly regurgitating all the reasons why he's divisive and controversial in a WDW thread.

TL;DR: I'm with phruby on this one. And having said that, I'll now turn around and break his rule to opine that people have got to chill out. Frantic outrage and lashing out - to the point that you're going on about the President elect in a WDW thread on Laughing Place - accomplishes nothing.

Easy, Disney can spend the money to refresh the attraction with something that better honors the office of the President. I would love to see a show on the trials and tribulations of the Office. George Washington could present the problems with commanding the army during the Revolution War and his struggles as President. Lincoln could talk about the civil war. Eisenhower could talk about WWII. Kennedy could talk about the Cold War and Cuban missile crisis. Reagan could talk about uniting Germany and the downfall of Soviet Union. We don't need to see every president up there but key events in American history could be really fun and not cost much to setup. They could have real fleshed out scenes similar to the American Adventure at Epcot.

Another alternative to the Hall of Presidents could be Great Moments in Muppet History. It could be an AA show where the Muppets present American history. Or hell, demo the whole thing and put in a Sleepy Hallow dark ride.

Timing is everything, any change right now will reflect that Disney is against Frump. They cannot, maybe next time, but not now. I wish they would, but, I don't see it happening right now.
