Hate crimes are up, and judging from the FB Trump-folk who managed to stay unbanned from me the whole way through, they're really, really pissed off now and ready to get their fight on.

Wow. I can't say I'm surprised, but still it hurts to read what was at that link.

Trump absolutely needs to formally, publicly denounce white nationalism, the Klan, and hate groups in general. He doesn't need their votes any more. This has already led to violence before he's even been sworn in, and violence will lead to counter-violence. If he doesn't denounce this crap, he will have blood on his hands.

What makes you think he doesn't want that?

You know what's crazy? Trump supporters are the first to denounce Muslim leadership for NOT denouncing the Muslim terrorists (which they often do, by the way) when they commit a violent act. Yet, when Trumpsters commit acts of violence and hate, often even invoking Trump's name in the process, and Trump et. al. are asked to denounce them, they throw up their hands and say, "Why should we? It's not our fault. They don't have anything to do with us!" Such hypocrisy! I wish the talking heads on the news channels would call them out on this.

It's not just Trumpsters causing issues. Right now there are lots of Clinton supporters causing a lot of grief where I live and work. I haven't gotten home before 7:00 since Tuesday, and I get off work at 4:30. Protesters are saying that Trump is not our President, and there have been whisperings of succeeding from the Union (which scares me even more than Trump being President). Anti-Trump protests: Portland police call it 'riot' - CNN.com
I understand being disappointed (or upset or scared) about how the election went down, but it is not okay to damage property, businesses, or people in general. We as a country have to suck it up and work together to get through these next four years.

Oh, I agree. Conservatives have long derided people on the left for destructive protests, often for good reason. Hey, I can understand being angry about the election results and I get that certain groups of society have very legitimate concerns, but rioting isn't going to help anything. In fact, it is fostering more scorn by the Trump supporters - just what we need right now. And the secession movements are just plain silly and have no legs; there is NO chance of them making any meaningful progress.

But all of this is only hurting the left's cause going forward. You would think that we'd know by know that if we are patient, Trump is going take himself down through his own words and actions. And that will open up many more opportunities to make meaningful changes than riots ever will.

I understand there's a movement in California to do the same. No shortage of stupid on the left either - especially the California activist hispanics, who have never had the least grasp of optics.

I saw someone (maybe it was here - this week online has been a blur) suggest that California, Oregon, and Washington state should secede and form their own country, called "COW".

You are so right. Making asses of ourselves will never help our cause. What we have to do is leave what we cannot change behind and work on changing what we can.
I was at a Veteran's Day service today and saw young children singing patriotic songs in their innocence and I knew I had to quit feeling sorry for myself and
Take America Back Again for them.
