After two weeks of almost constant either going or entertaining and staying up late playing games with the kids and grandkids; I feel we will be ringing in the New Year in our sleep.
@iamsally that's what me and hubby did too this year! Cozy in our little home. This weekend I hope to host a family game night (board games) on Friday, and then possibly get some work done on a maternity dress I am making.
Oh! I just loved sewing maternity clothes. It is raining and forecasted to continue through the weekend. I figure my daughter's family will probably come over at some point. The house had just been too darn quiet since Christmas.
Preparing to fly to Seattle on Tuesday. I refuse to pay for luggage so have to fit everything in one carryon and a backpack. It is much easier in the summer than now when we need heavy winter clothing. I keep vowing to stop flying but when we can do it cheaper than driving plus not having that 16 hour drive; it's up, up and away.
Sounds like a good time @iamsally ! Wishing you safe, smooth travels and a lovely trip. This weekend I hope to go in for my 1-hour glucose test, maybe get some painting in, and then go for a nice hike.
Took my test, passed with no problems, so that's nice to check off my list of appointments. This weekend we ended up working a bit on the nursery, assembled our crib and arranged a few pieces of furniture. It's nice to see it coming together for our little girl!
I have a lot of wonderful memories of getting our nursery ready. I envy you. I'd truly love to do it all over again. Although, I wont envy you around 2am. I do enjoy sleeping these days. My kids are older (21, 19, and 13). In fact, this coming weekend, I will be taking my daughter to the airport. She is flying to Orland, FL to start working at DISNEYWORLD!!!!! Yeah! She was accepted in the Disney College program and asked to be sent to Anaheim....So, of course, they are sending her to Florida. She's so excited. I'm so nervous. It will be a great opportunity for her.
Oy! Not looking forward to that part about the broken sleep patterns. But, it's all for love, so I remain determined! @PNWTigger Nothing specific, just an eclectic mix of colors and motifs... mostly a warm sand color, shades of pink, and even some light blue and a combination of inspirations from music, to adventure, to art.
This weekend I am going to work on some projects for the nursery. Then Saturday evening we are celebrating my sister's b-day at her place. I hope to get a couple of hikes/walks in, enjoy the outdoors a bit. Make some orange juice from the oranges growing out back.
I have bunches of citrus from my friend's tree that need to be juiced or made into marmalade. We haven't seen the close-by grandchildren so they will probably be here Sunday.
I'll be thrifting and listing for my new business on ebay... Also celebrating my grandma's 90th birthday with family!
Ah, 90 years! Sounds like fun. We did a party for my MIL's 90th two years ago. We have a brunch on Saturday. Hopefully we will be getting a lot of rest as well. Things have been crazy busy.
We are putting in new outlets and switches at my parents' house as an anniversary surprise while they are in Hawaii. I think I would rather be back in Dublin though...LOL!
We are starting tonight with dinner out with friends. Then we are gonna start getting the motorhome ready for our upcoming trip to Disneyland.
