So this guy is from the Denver area. Not that I'm familiar with him, but the Denver Post has written some articles about him. One article mentioned the concept of term limits. He said, "Recognizing that men are not angels, the Framers of the Constitution put in place a number of institutional checks designed to prevent abuse of the enormous powers they had vested in the legislative branch,” “A term limit, we suggest, is simply an analogous procedure designed to advance much the same substantive end.” Combined with supposedly being an originalist and textualist, I do hope the Democrats hammer him hard about how comfortable he is with the tactics the GOP has taken to get him here. Both the refusal to give Garland even a hearing, and now the threat of the nuclear option. Should Congress get in the habit of ignoring the last year of a President's term, or is a President elected for a full four years or not. I know they picked him for his role in the discrimination vs religious freedom, and pro-life fights. I just hope that there are some scruples regarding governmental abuse of power that they didn't bother to vet for, and that there could be surprises lurking in terms of derailing other parts of the President and Congressional GOP's agendas.
