Thiught by this time, my use of 'Disney' was implied. As in 'The Walt Disney Company' or 'Walt Disney Imagineering' But sure Mawnck - some of Disney's ideas are weird, off or unsuccessful. What is weird or unsuccessful about the live Beauty and the Beast show? I have never seen the show nor have I wanted to(haven't seen the movie either nor have I wanted to ) and there are other live shows based on animated movies: Lion King, Little Mermaid, finding Nemo(OK, a full puppet show but still onstage people acting), Aladdin. What's the problem with Beauty and Beast?
Oh I see, yes looks terrible. Those live action adaptations from animation movies/cartoons shows don't work for me: Flintstones Casper Scooby Doo's Fat Albert Speed Racer As for Jungle Book redo, maybe I should try it on Netflix. But I certainly don't have high hopes for it.
Except for when Christopher Walken attempts to sing...that might give you nightmares for a day or two.
Scary thing is he is known as a song and dance man. I personally think he had something to do with Natalie Wood's death.

What always gets me about this video isn't his dancing (it's lovely, though) but the downtown LA Marriott lobby. I spent a fair amount of time in that hotel about 10 years ago (has it been that long already!?), and it's instantly recognizable. Yah, seeing Walken dance is fun and all, but to me the mindblowing part is my familiarity with the setting
The whole Walken thing has gotten into my brain. I actually had a dream with King Louie (Walken's voice) in it arguing with me about his song and dance routines. Let me tell you though...that orangutan can really bust a move!!
I like the HS live action Beauty and the Beast but I found it comical that they skip over a huge section of the movie by saying "Through a series of odd events, Belle finds herself in the castle." Well, I guess we're just moving along then. One thing I didn't like was that although the main actors were singing live, the rest was a soundtrack so none of the back up singers are actually singing. That may be true of other live shows in the park but this was the most obvious to me.
Bumping this thread. I still would like to spark some ideas to make use of this building for the benefit of Fantasyland (not Liberty Square). It's ripe with opportunity to create a queue from the area of the castle, and occupy the space of the Philharmagic and HoP together. Some sort of spectacular, "Forbidden Journey"-competing ride system attraction.
I've said it before: I don't get to WDW very often. And I don't expect I'll be there during the Trump administration. I have too many other places to spend fall vacations.
The non-speaking part seem to be the most viable thing that they could do. Trump, whether we like it or not, is currently President, we cannot change history and shouldn't, but even if they threw him out of office tomorrow, he still has been President for what seems like 100 years but is actually only a little over 100 days. They introduce Richard Nixon and do not mention his having to resign in disgrace. With time we tend to have the edge come off of things that bothered us all a long time ago. I've gone on record as saying, if he were to get a speaking part, then I would never enter the building again until time had rendered his AA in the same light as the Yeti. I acknowledge that he is president, because he is. I will not, however, sit and listen to his voice or real rhetoric. Even a prepared speech that sounded good would not sound true, so why bother. If the White House is unable to make a simple response to a simple question, then shine a light on him on stage, but, keep the sound off.
I don't think there will be a speech. That was a fairly recent addition to the attraction anyway starting with Bill Clinton. However, please keep you feelings about the President in the World Events section or this thread will be locked.
It's entirely possible to speculate about HoP, or to voice one's reason for not having a personal interest in what happens when (or if) it reopens during the Trump administration (e.g., I have too many other places to go on my fall vacations before I get back to WDW), without actually voicing an opinion of Trump. And the fact that the MSEP is back in DL, and might even come back next summer, makes it much more likely that I'll be satisfying my Disney theme park cravings without leaving my home county.
Good for you and I hope that when all your freedoms have been removed you will still fell that remaining silent was a good idea. Your beliefs might line up with his words today, but, that could change in a heartbeat and you don't want to think about the future so go ahead smiling and being complacent. I don't intend too. I will express how I feel and why. Everyone is welcome to disagree, but, not to stifle my freedom of speech. The problem is that this situation extends far beyond a theme park attraction.
