Just saw this video of v2 of River of Lights. Show starts about 7:30 into the video. What did you think?
I watched a few bits from the video, and I've already heard the entire audio, but I'm trying to avoid watching too much before I see it in person in November. Overall, I really like what I've seen. It seems to be a lot more subtle than most overly-schmaltzy evening shows, more in tone with Illuminations than Wishes. I can certainly understand that the show might not be a home run with all guests, but I think it fits the park well I especially like the moment around the 19-minute mark that is eerily similar to the Transformation scene from Brother Bear. It's one of my favorite moments in any animated film and I thought it would have made for great imagery in World of Color; I had hoped they would do something like this from the first moment I saw the ROL concept art, so I'm glad that it made its way into the final show I've heard that they had trouble getting the 100-or-so floating lanterns to work, but hopefully they'll be able to incorporate them at some point in the future. Obviously this show had a lot of technical issues out of the gate, so I'm fine with them adding to it as it goes on, while keeping it reliable
It's really nice they put Bespin in at the 8:30 mark. I'm not sure what it has to do with animals. Maybe Lando had a zoo?
I'll be seeing this for the first time in May. We sacrificed fastpasses at MK during the day so we could get the fastpass to this show. I'm looking forward to it but I've read that a lot of people think is just okay. I'll form my own opinion once I watch it though.
