I know, I know - let the snarky comments begin.
    'SNL is still on?'
'It was never the same after ______ left'

That said, with Alec Baldwin as Predident Trump, Kate McKinnon as Kelly Anne Conway and now Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer - SNL is on it.

I find it interesting that they keep using non-cast members to play these roles that will obviously be recurring fairly regularly for the foreseeable future. I think that really started with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, who was perfect for the role, but these feel like they're pulling in bigger names just to goose the ratings. It's kind of fun for an infrequent character that pops up every now and then, but when they're do it ever week it sort of feels like they have no confidence in the regular cast

Then again, it was never the same after ____________ left, so what difference does it make at this point?

"It was never the same after I graduated high school, whenever that happened to be."

    FTFY.

Lorne Michaels himself said it best. He can always tell when someone was in high school because they'll say that's when SNL was the best. He attributed it to a lot of things, but basically that most people in high school don't have a lot of money, they don't have a car (or if they do, see the no money thing), so they end up hanging out with their friends watching SNL. Then everybody'd talk about it Monday at school.

That was certainly my experience. If you haven't heard Marc Maron' s interview with Michaels, I can't recommend it enough.

I wasn't crazy about McKinnon as Sessions, though. If they're going to have guest stars take on roles like this... if anyone at 30 Rock is reading this... you need to contact Leslie Jordan to do Sessions.

Seriously, would this guy make a perfect Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, or what?

Hey, he's got the NBC connection (Will and Grace), and him doing it would without a doubt drive both Sessions and Trump out of their minds.
