Tomorrow TWDC is holding its annual Shareholder Meeting. Is anyone attending the Shareholder Meeting this year, or is anyone going to listen to the webcast tomorrow? The Walt Disney Company’s 2017 Annual Meeting of Shareholders - The Walt Disney Company If I have time, I'm pretty sure I'm going to listen to the webcast. I don't expect any big news, but I'm so looking forward to the stupid and embarrassing questions asked by fans. During the last years it was always fun to listen.
Thanks for the reminder! I'll definitely try to listen in; it seems like there's always crazy stuff that comes out of it, so it should be fun LP usually does a live blog too, in case anybody is having trouble getting the audio to work, or wants a play-by-play after, without having to listen to the whole thing
It's so weird hearing Iger's introductions of things like Guardians and Star Wars, only for the audio to seamlessly fade into classic Disney music while the highlight reels play for the in-person audience. There's great music for all those properties, so why not use something relevant for the online audience?
Let the akwardness begin, it's Q&A time. Edit: Finally an interesting one about the Mickey Mouse IP and DLP
Good to hear that Mickey Mouse is still protected after 2018 when the copyright expires. And also good to hear that Disney moves forward with buying out DLP.
I had to go to a meeting, so I missed about 20 minutes near the beginning of the Q&A There have been a couple worthwhile questions, but most of them are terrible as usual. I had really forgotten how this event brings all the most interesting people out of the shadows
