We’re getting a sneak peek at a new teaser and logo (see above and below) for Descendants 2, a sequel to Disney Channel’s hit 2015 musical fantasy original movie about the teenage children of classic Disney villains. The clip will air tonight during a half-hour special Season 1 finale of Descendants: Wicked World beginning at 8 PM EDT on Disney Channel. If the first one was any indication, a bad high school play would be a huge improvement. I really don't understand how this thing was popular enough to need a sequel.
It doesn't matter if it is popular. It's the toy line that counts. I really hope Dove Cameron disappears completely after Disney kicks her out for being too old in a year or two.
I think the target audience for these Disney Channel Original Movies is teens and pre-teens, so I'm pretty sure Disney is not going to be upset that some adults don't think it's the next Citizen Kane. My daughters loved the first one and can't wait for the sequel to air in July. Seen through their eyes, I can understand the appeal. Not that I think Descendants is the best DCOM, but it is definitely an improvement over some of the others they have put out.
