I'm very surprised that they did this interview in the park; it seems like the type of thing that would have been better for a conference room or news studio. I'm also surprised to hear Iger talking about the US economy while in Shanghai, since his media presence from that park has been tightly controlled ever since they first started construction. I wonder what he had to do to get approval from the Chinese government for that And while Iger always looks quite dapper in a suit, he always looks incredibly uncomfortable in more casual outfits, like the "cool dad" trying to keep up with his teenage child. Although what he said was essentially just his standard "buzzword bingo", he looked so miserably uncomfortable in the video. Then again, he tends to look very uncomfortable in any videos from Shanghai...
Mr. Iger always felt uncomfortable in front of cameras or during interviews, but he has improved over the years. However I still find that strange, because he used to work in front of a camera when he started his career as a weatherman. I guess that's why he still uses teleprompters. I'm still undecided on him. On the one hand he did many great things for Disney, e.g. Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar, or even the DLP purchase, but on the other hand, I don't like his tentpole appraoch and his fixation on franchises. Disney is the biggest Hollywood Studio currently and in my opinion there should still be a place for Oscar movies, like Disney did with Miramax during the Eisner years. Until today I don't get why Iger had to sell the Miramax library. There are so many great movies in there, especially Academy awarded films.
