I haven't gotten to see it myself yet, but it sounds like people's opinions of it vary greatly, depending on their expectations. The show's message is very much in line with the park's, as a celebration of nature and the animal world. It doesn't have any Disney characters in it, and it doesn't have the big spectacle of some of Disney's other nighttime shows. Due to the proximity to animals, there are no fireworks, but there is a wide variety of other nighttime effects, including projections, lasers, moving barges, and fountains. Don't go to it expecting a Magic Kingdom-style fireworks show; think of it more like the subtle message of Illuminations, though in a more intimate setting Since I haven't seen it yet, I can't speak to the logistics of the viewing areas, but I've heard that it's worth the effort to use a FP or get a dining package for it
We saw it for the first time on our last trip and liked it. But we decided that it's not a "must see" on every trip so we'll see it every two or three trips. It has nice visuals but there isn't really a story to follow so it's a lot of pretty things to look at but not a lot of substance. The music also didn't knock my socks off but I have read that others really like the music. In any case, it's worth seeing at least once and probably again on later trips. I don't have any specific information about where the seating is for the electric carts but I remember there being a line specifically for those carts so I suspect you'll have no trouble.
