Disney has recently begun surveying guests about a possible Star Wars resort hotel which could be built at Walt Disney World. According to the information presented in the survey, the hotel would allow guests to take a vacation on an “actual” Star Wars Starship. Below, we’ve gathered all of the details about this proposed Star Wars hotel experience. The Disney survey in question is being conducted by a contracted third party through Swagbucks.com and was first noticed by WDWNT. The proposed hotel would not just be a place where you return after riding the rides, but an all-inclusive, two-night immersive resort experience. Me either. I'm sure there will be people who are interested, but it sounds terrible to me. I can suspend disbelief for 30-60 minutes for something like an escape room, but this really just seems to take it too far. The way it's framed, I'm almost imagining adult guests dressed in costumes shouting "pew pew pew!" as though it's coming from a blaster or something; essentially it sounds like a kid's experience that they're trying to sell to adults. Not for me, but I'm sure there are people who would pay tons to do it; but are there enough to keep it operating sustainably? I also have to wonder if this concept could potentially be used for the announced-without-details 4th hotel at DLR. It almost seems to make more sense in that resort's overall makeup than in WDW
I thought the Star Wars hotel was suppose to go on the Simba parking lot to act as a berm for Star Wars land in DCA.
I can't imagine WDW talking about adding an additional resort right now. They need to focus on the parks and resorts they currently have. As well as transportation issues. Put the addition of WDW resorts on the back burner.
This rumoured hotel is really coming to WDW. Plans Unveiled for Star Wars-Inspired Themed Resort at Walt Disney World I guess I will never stay there, because it will be too expensive, but this hotel sounds really fantastic.
I'm sure it will be very popular, but it just has no appeal to me. I realize that not every experience needs to appeal to every guest, but I can't see myself ever doing this, regardless of price. A multi-day official cosplay-type experience just seems way too silly to be enjoyable; I don't even like the idea of the "your decisions have consequences" interactive elements in the theme park land That said, I've seen enough people who want this that I'm sure it will be popular. It's growing increasingly clear that I am not the target audience of current Disney management
At that price, I'm inclined to stick with the All Star Music. It's inexpensive; it's comfortable; it's more immersive than a lot of much more expensive hotels on the property. And Gray Line still (as of last fall, at least) still picks up from there on the Kennedy Space Center run, whereas they seem to have dropped a lot of the other Disney hotels as pick-up points.
