Hi, I am taking a girls trip with my Mother and 2 of my daughters, age 11 and 8 next March. We want to fly in to SNA and spend a week at Disneyland with 1 day going to Universal. Has anyone used Uber to get to and from the airport or from Anaheim to Universal and if so what is the approximate cost? We are trying to decide if we should utilize the shuttle/bus services vs Uber to get around the area. Any information will be helpful in our planning.

I've used Uber to get around from airports to Disneyland before, though never from Anaheim to Universal. You can usually punch in your location and where you're going and get an estimate.

That said, for four people, you are almost certainly better off using Uber XL than getting a shuttle. The cost will be close and the little bit of money you might save, IMO, is greatly offset by the convenience of using Uber or Lyft.

    What's wrong with a taxi?

Nothing wrong with a taxi, if the price was right. From my understanding Uber would be less expensive than a taxi. I have always driven in past trips however, my mom wants to fly this time and I am uncertain the best way to get around. I have used the ART previously for the Disney resort area and am familiar with that. I do appreciate the information given as I am unfamiliar with the way Uber works.

Yeah a taxi will be more money and less convenient; your driver may refuse to go that far where an Uber driver won't.

Download the Uber app and take a couple of short rides around your home city to get a feel for it. It's weird at first getting picked up by a stranger in their car but after the first one or two rides, it feels completely normal. My dad lives in DC and all he uses is the metro and Uber; it's become his main source of transportation, after the subway.
