Can anyone tell me if the wait time for guardians of the galaxy has gotten shorter? Two hours or less maybe ?

Well at 8:30am it's 5 minutes but they aren't open yet.
You might want to download the Disneyland app. It will tell you wait times even outside of the park.

Looking at the App, it says only a 45 minute wait at 11:30am on 9/2/17

I was in the park this Saturday & Sunday and the waits were generally around 45 minutes, with the FP return time about 2.5 hours away

That said, I wouldn't count those days as "normal". Due to the holiday, the lower level APs were blacked out, which always leads to more manageable crowd sizes. The weather was also a factor, with triple-digit temperatures much of the day on Saturday and rain Sunday afternoon (with temps in the upper 90's). The parks were deserted, and people were being careful to avoid spending too much time in sunny areas (like the GOTG standby queue) and taking lots of rest breaks. Through careful use of FP and single rider lines, and intentionally avoiding busy spots, I only waited more than 10 minutes for a couple attractions all weekend

have you used the MaxPass yet? we're going down in a week or so, and I was wondering if it was worth it.

I have not. I considered it (mostly for the Photopass benefit, which would also work for race photos), but decided against it considering how short all the waits were in reality. It seems like it's an easy addition the day of your visit, so I would wait to see what the crowds are like

We used MaxPass this last week, and it worked out pretty well for us. I really liked the Photopass benefit which allowed me to download all of the ride/holiday pics that were taken. We used the FastPass part when we were in a long line (i.e. GotG) to see if we could come back w/ a pass later. It worked out for us for the most part. We weren't able to check out the GotG holiday edition because the wait times were crazy (2+ hours) and there weren't any FP available. So I would be curious to hear what the difference is if anybody has the patience to wait in line for it. ;)
