This spring, I ventured to Shanghai Disney on a weekend during a trip for work. Among the many terrific attractions there was their version of Pirates of the Caribbean, within 'Pirates Cove' - a "land" exclusive to the Pirates theme. A truly spectacular place.

The attraction was so good, so amazing, so technologically stunning, that I wonder what it would be like to bring a copy of the attraction to WDW.

I know there's no room at MK, and the Shanghai version is fairly large. If there were indeed room, it would be reasonable to have both attractions, as one is kind of a sequel to the other.

But it makes me wonder more. Could a "Pirates!" (Shanghai version) attraction work at Hollywood Studios? Could it work as a replacement to the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular theater?

Interesting thought. I agree that for practical reasons it would fit better at the Studios than MK, but even so I'm not sure they would do it. It sort of seems like the Pirates franchise is mostly played out in the US, which makes it seem like an odd choice (though that's not stopping the Tron coaster). The Studios park could use another family dark ride and a water ride, so this would check off both of those boxes, and a Pirates land would match the current approach of having franchise-based lands rather than ones with broader themes

When I first started reading your post, I thought it was crazy, but the more I think about it, the more it could make sense. Of course, they won't be able to close the stunt show to begin any construction in that area for 2+ years (since the rest of the park is already closed), so who knows what the flavor du jour will be at that point
