Going to be there the first weekend of August! Aaaah! Think I'll be in the water sprinklers with my toddler. Any advice for those of our group that want to max out the coasters?
It's been 4-5 years since my last visit, but as with any park the best way to maximize your time is to arrive early and leave late. Crowds will peak in mid-afternoon, so that's a good time to take a break, especially in the August heat. My last visit was right after Verbolten opened, which had the longest and slowest-moving queue; the waits for the other coasters seemed to move fairly quickly (though I was there before peak summer crowds) Have you been before? It's not Disney, but it's got that hard-to-describe charm that I haven't found in many other places. It's a really nice regional park with a lot of good theming, great food, friendly employees, and a nice variety of attractions. The woodsy setting definitely makes the park stand out from others; there are times where it's easy to forget you're even in a theme park
I will try to get them there before opening, but they’re not my teenagers. Our car will be there. It just seems like it will be more tricky with the lands opening at different times. Your description sounds nice.
I didn't realize that they did staggered openings, but with the park layout it makes sense. Between the hills and circuitous routes, it could take 30+ minutes to get to the farthest areas (Germany and Canada) if you're not in a rush, so it would take a while for crowds to get back there If you're hanging out with a small child, make sure to check out some of the shows. Although they don't have a ton of entertainment, what they do have is really good. On my last visit I saw a Riverdance-type show that was worth the price of admission alone; the small theater setting made it that much more impressive, since everybody was close enough that we could really appreciate how tough it was
Hmm. There's something to do in Williamsburg other than CW, or catching a bus to Jamestown? Honestly, though, I actually do tend to forget there's a Busch Gardens less than four miles from CW. Giving their web site a first look, I don't see much that's to my taste, though. Nothing that strikes me as being worth the 4-mile ride on a WATA bus, when the whole point of my going to Williamsburg is to spend some time in the 18th Century.
