Post your favorite videos of Disneyland. How better to start things than with Walt's dedication speech, 1955.
There are a lot of walking tour videos of the park. Here's one I found on YouTube that was recorded May 31, 2013.
The description of the following video: "The Mousekateers appeared in public for the first time, on the day of Disneyland's opening, on July 17th, 1955..while this appearance was televised in black and white, Disney had the rehearsals filmed in COLOR.. so, here are the Mouskateers, as they appeared on TV, in black and white, the color rehearsal sections are edited in..this is pretty terrific..great memories for all of us who were kids in the mid '50's."
Thank you! I figure, if I can't be there, I might as well enjoy some videos. I love some of the older videos too. I hope everyone (What are there like a half dozen people on this board now? LOL) will start posting their favorite stuff. I have hours of video that are all on VHSC that I need to convert to digital one of these days.
Great video quality! Walt takes us on a tour and talks about a future Disneyland area called New Orleans Square and an attraction called 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Sounds pretty cool.
I remember watching this one. Is that Bruce Davison singing Sugar Sugar with Kurt Russell? I love all the videos and remembering how DL used to be. Tomorrowland would be retro-futuristic now.
Remember Nature's Wonderland & Rainbow Caverns? It closed in 1977 to make way for the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
The amount of time, energy and money that this guy spent I can not imagine. he said that he would put up videos of the process so we might learn more when they show up.
