I don't know about anyone else but I think that this is very good news. I am so glad that they went the extra mile (cost) and are adding a bridge. New Pedestrian Bridge Added to New Parking Structure at Disneyland Resort
Except you have to across DTD's parking lot to get to it. It is a longer walk than the closed path that parallels the trams.
This seems like a decent enough alternative to the tram (though the old path was still shorter) and will provide a nice direct connection to help with traffic and safety concerns. But at this point it feels like a connection to something that's not there yet; it will be interesting to see how the eventual redesign of the western end of DTD and its parking lots will play out As someone who works with pedestrian and traffic infrastructure all the time, I really enjoyed how Disney is trying to bill this as a "magical" enhancement. It will be a nice piece of infrastructure and is attractive enough, but let's not pretend it's anything more than that. It's also clear that the designers gave some technical talking points to a PR person who doesn't quite understand what they're talking about, which made me chuckle
