Today at Comic Con in London, Vice President Franchise Creative and Marketing for Marvel Studios, Dave Bushore and Creative Director of Disneyland Paris, Mark Huffman announced that the Marvel Super Heroes are coming to Disneyland Paris in summer 2018, from June 10th to September 30th. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, Star-Lord and Black Widow will appear for the first time exclusively at Disneyland Paris in summer 2018 in a special Marvel Summer of Super Heroes season. The Marvel Super Heroes will feature in the Walt Disney Studios Park for exciting meet & greets and breathtaking, epic shows. But that’s not all for Marvel fans at Disneyland Paris. Disneyland Paris is also re-imagining from October 2018 one of its Resort Hotels into a universe that would make Tony Stark proud. Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will transport guests to the action-packed, inspiring world of Super Heroes including Iron Man, The Avengers, and Spider Man among others, and will open within 2020. I'm stil surprised it took them that long.
I'm totally sure that WDSP will get the Guardians of the Galaxy Tower rather sooner than later. And while I really like the current tower, I'm fine with the change, because I've read so many great reviews about it. Even LeeMac, unfortunately he doesn't post here anymore, likes the Guardians Tower.
Yeah, I think the change is inevitable and mentioning Star Lord in the announcement all but confirms it to me. I'm not sure how I feel about it to be honest. The new version does look good, but so is the original and I don't like the idea of an attraction so central to the park, in terms of location and theme, being changed to something that doesn't fit as well.
From the outside the GOTG Tower doesn't look very appealing and it would definitely stick out since you can see the Tower from nearly everywhere at the resort. That's my only concern as well. I guess WDI will abandon the "working" studio theme, for me it has never worked and honestly I'm not even sure if that actually was their approach. I think Disney will go the same route like Universal is going with their studio parks. WDSP will become a place where people can "ride" the movies.
I know that different crowds prefer different things, but I hope this is better received by guests than DCA's Summer of Heroes this year, which was met by an overwhelming sense of indifference. The limited information sounds pretty similar, so I hope that there's more of a difference in guest reactions. From what I saw, nobody planned their time around the special events, and most didn't even stop by when they were going on. Black Widow's show started with a little procession from the parade gate to the stage, and people walking past it watched it go by, shrugged, and continued on their way; nobody followed it to the stage. I really can't think of a Disney promotion that was met with so much indifference by guests As for the GOTG tower, I have mixed feelings about it. The ride is a lot of fun, but it really didn't feel like a Disney experience to me; it was classic Universal. Granted I'm not really a Marvel fan and I haven't seen the GOTG movies, but the story setup seemed overly complicated for a fairly straightforward premise (they're trapped, we're helping them get out). And then the story itself wrapped up just seconds after the ride began, and we kept bouncing around and watching random character cameos for no apparent reason. It was also tough to hear what was supposed to be going on, with all the screaming, cheering, and loud music. Was it a lot of fun? Absolutely. Was it the all-encompassing storytelling that Disney is know for? Not really; I rode it twice and I'm still not really sure what was going on I'm also concerned about what it would mean for WDSP's future. The park has such a small footprint dedicated to "old Hollywood" that it would be a real shame to lose the most visible part of it. TOT could easily be annexed into the Production Courtyard (or whatever Marvel thing it will surely become), but the GOTG façade is just so incredibly ugly that it would surely overwhelm the area. I'm especially struggling to imagine the Partners statue with that monstrosity in the background
They should just relocated the Partners Statue to Disneyland Park, where it belongs in the first place.

I watched the stunt show when I was at DLP a few weeks ago for the races...what a mess that thing is! I can see why they're bringing Cinemagique back as a special promotion Granted, I have very little knowledge of the Marvel characters and much of the show was presented in French, but I had no idea what was going on for most of it. The first 2/3 of the show was random scenes introducing the familiar Marvel characters, but there wasn't really any connection from one scene to the next. The final 1/2 was a big battle, but it was so poorly staged that it was tough to tell where to look or even what was going on. That said, from a technical perspective it's really well done. The performers all did a great job, and there were a lot of really impressive stunts. The drones were neat, but felt a little out of place; the floating car was a cool effect too, even if it was obviously a fake vehicle. But the pacing and staging made it very difficult to appreciate any of that. During the battle with the most impressive stunts, there was no clear focal point; it was like a 3-ring circus. There was also a lot of unnecessary moments where everybody paused in a superhero pose, which just looked ridiculous after a while. And while the projections on the sides of the audience had the potential to be something really neat, they just weren't used very effectively. More than anything, this show was just a disappointment. It had the potential to be so much more than it was; the cast and technical aspects were outstanding, but the show itself was just terrible. As Marvel's first big entertainment option in the park, I expected a lot more. It's a shame that this was the result.
@FerretAfros Maybe the response was not really good in general and that's why they bring back Cinemagique in order to rework the Marvel Show. However I would not mind Cinemagique to stay.
The show I saw was full, and everybody seemed like they enjoyed it on the way out. It was fun and silly, but didn't quite manage to meet expectations I've heard that the show is very expensive to put on (lots of stunt performers to pay), so bringing back Cinemagique is somewhat of a cost-savings measure. They had a lot of tech problems during production, which may have impacted the final format of the show. Even though Cinemagique is basically just a standard 2D film, it's one of Disney's finest attractions so I don't mind it coming back, especially since the alternative would be an empty theater. Hopefully they can rework the stunt show and bring it back in a better form (or just keep Cinemagique forever, I'd be fine with that too)
