Not sure if anyone is even checking the boards anymore. But I figured I would pop back in now that I have an AP again. Jayna and are still together and married. Married in October of 2008 after being together for 10 years. Not we will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary this year. No children and it appears thats the way it is going to stay. We have plenty of nieces and nephews to spoil. Jayna has a great job as an office manager for 2 medical offices. Its a ton of work but she loves the challenge and of course the pay. I am still at my job as a customer service director that I have been at for 13 years now. I also am a professional photographer on the side and am coming nearing able to quit the 9-5 and go full time photographer.
Howdy Peeaanuut! A few of us are still lurking about, the last of the Mohicans. Good to hear from you.
I check in at least once a day. I will hang in until the very last post. Would like to hear about your trips and other adventures. We are planning to buy AP's this trip after a 3 year hiatus.
Hit up the park for a small bit after work. Didnt do any rides and really just wanted to finish off a roll of film I had left. Hopefully something comes out. Im gonna try to be at the park once a week if I can.
I doubt anybody remembers me and my super generic late 90s screen name, but I remember all of the people who have posted/been mentioned on this thread! Good to see some oldsters still floating around, even if I'm, hmmmm...two years late to this thread. Decided to check the ol' place out on a nostalgic whim. LP was my Disney home for many years. I'm not entirely sure why I left, really. I mean, my issues with things were relatively minor and I didn't actually plan to stop coming here. At some point I did get tired of certain posters constantly derailing every thread on the DL board, so when I happened to sign up for Micechat JUST to look at a picture of one of the new Matterhorn Bobsleds, I stuck around because at the time I became more interested in the conversations going on over there. My time on here got less and less until it completely disappeared. Well, at this point Micechat isn't faring much better than here in terms of traffic. I don't do Facebook and have no interest in it so the demise of message boards is distressing to me. I will say that the link to these boards on the main page is rather difficult to find. I see where it is now, but I actually had to use Google to point me in the right direction. I know people in general aren't as interested in message boards anymore, but having them hidden away certainly doesn't help.
Hi Dznygrl! I think I remember seeing your name on here many moons ago. I too left for a few years and then came back. There's not too many of us on the boards these days. It's kind of sad thinking of the way it used to be and how quiet it is today. I know a few LPers are no longer with us. Some, I suspect got tired of the squabbling and other issues on here. Facebook didn't help matters as many have moved-on to that site. Even though LP has a Facebook page, I don't see enough going on there, or regular visitors, to make it as much fun as we used to have on these boards. Anyway, glad you checked-in and don't be a stranger. We can use the company! Maybe we can revive the LP boards!
That really irks me. The message boards seemed to be completely missing a while back and I only found them by doing a search on my husband's not-so-smart phone. It would be great if you would post with us sometimes. WE is dead and I do not think any of us miss it. Most activity takes place in PlayPen and Community with occasional threads about what is going on in the Parks. I picture myself being the last hold out who keeps posting hopefully every day.
Welcome back @Dznygrl ! I'm somewhat new to LP, but I guess I've been around for a while now. It would be great to have you join us again. Ditto what @iamsally said about us mostly being in the PlayPen and Community area, but now that there is a date for GE there might be a little more action in that area.
Maybe they could give each of us an area to mess around in....this place shall not die! My area will be about applesacks.
Tinkeroon passed away a few years ago. And it just broke my heart when I got the news. I had stopped visiting LP around that time and was notified by Shivah shortly after. There were a couple of others I saw later that were sending prayer requests for themselves and/or another member that were dealing with issues. I didn't really know them because I wasn't on here very much and I can't even recall their monikers now. It all makes me sad just how much time has gone by and how people just vanish from our lives. One sparkling moment they are there and the next they've gone.
We lost our dear Tinkeroon (Kathy) July 16, 2013. Road Trip (Jerry) passed away November 11, 2016. I do believe those were both while you were still posting crazycroc. There have been some babies born but for some mysterious reason(?!?) the mothers quit posting.
Thanks for filling me in on the losses. I was around when tinkeroon passed. Didn't know about roadtrip.... Is there anyway to find these great posters from the past and try to get them to come back?
Many folks pop in every now and then for a post or two. We always encourage them to stick around but few respond. It makes me sad. I even have a few personal friends who I see from time to time. I always tell them they should try again but to no avail.
