It is with a heavy heart that I have to share that our Chihuahua, Cocita (Rosita Chiquita Juanita Chihuahua) died today. She was blind and over 17 years old. The past few days she has made it clear that she was suffering. I knew the end was near because our two Tom cats took turns lying next to her when she was sleeping. We were her 4th rescue family. She had a very hard life so when she came to us seven years ago we swore we would be her last family. She only weighed about 4.5 pounds and yes, I used to dress her in cute girlie clothes. Her presence will be missed by one and all. She was never above sneaking a bit of Christmas Turkey.
So sorry for your loss. It's always so hard to lose a furry family member. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.
Little thing keep popping up. Like when I tried to pour tuna juice in her bowl. She has always slept in my bed often squeezing between Rod and myself. This morning I bumped a pillow and thought it was her. She was our cross country traveler. Our little Chihuahua in the Chihuahuan desert.
Oh, I'm so sorry....I know how tough it is. You did good and gave her 7 happy years. You can be proud of that. And she really rocked that Christmas gown, didn't she?! I have a feeling our little gal pooch won't be with us much longer either. She's been having a few issues.
Not all dogs get to travel like that. Your Cocita was a lucky girl to have pet parents like you!! Our dogs are lucky to go over to Long Beach, and when SUPER lucky to Mt Hood to play in the snow.
Her absolute favorite was the Coastal Redwoods. I am so sad that with bad weather last fall and all that is going on now; we were not able to get her up there one last time.
