Well, I went on Saturday 1/18/20 and got a boring group 102. While it was high watching the number go by all day our hopes were up. Finally at 7:00 they called our number and we got into line. It then broke down when we got into the caves of the Que. After an hour they started to have us move again. We almost got to the briefing room and then it broke down again. By 9:00 the said that the ride would not run again on that day and had everyone exit. So close. Oh, well another weekend.
I am sincerely sorry but I do agree with james; though waiting does not always help. I have spent 2.5 hours deep in the bowels of Pirates.
And I'm pretty sure I've been on Space Mountain once when it shut down, and the vehicles had to be released one at a time, with the work lights on. (And I also rode it once with the work lights on as part of a "backstage"-themed passholder party.) And not terribly long ago, I was in the queue for Roger Rabbit, when it shut down; I opted to stick around, simply because I had nothing better to do, and the Roger Rabbit queue is better than some rides (e.g., the pre-Monsters-Inc. "SuperStar Lemon"). To the point where I have never understood why anybody would want to do a FP on Roger Rabbit.
We broke down on RR right at the end one time. Everyone ahead of us was let out right away but we were just past that point and had to wait nearly an hour to be pushed forward. I could not see that we were in any extra danger where we were. The absolute best, though, was Gaget's Go Coaster. This is like a 45 second ride, right. We got stuck right at the top and had to take stairs down. It was especially disappointing as it was my grandson's 1st roller coaster ever. He's 19 now so it was a while ago.
Did you get on this past weekend? Or is "another weekend" an open ended thing? I'd love to hear a report from an actual LP'er. I've looked at Micechat, but lordy, those boards are dominated by some pretentious Debbie Downers who all know how to run Disney sooooooo much better than the current management, whom they regard as somewhere between philistines and Nazis. So even when someone posts a positive review, they're swamped by the Debbies talking about how much better it would be if they were in charge. The hell of it is I often agree with their assessments of current management decisions, but the pretentiousness of these guys just makes me roll my eyes. Any LP'ers ride yet???
I walked away from MousePad, some years ago. I had been justly censured some months before that, for making a comment suggesting a not-appropriate-for-a-family-board alternate meaning for "Dole Whip." And so when, to a thread about when it is appropriate for parents and their kids to have separate hotel rooms, I made the completely serious suggestion involving parental privacy (but suggesting a suite, or adjoining rooms, or at least adjacent rooms), it was taken as a sexual innuendo, and I was censured unjustly. I walked away from Cake Central because it was eventually rather obvious that it was a nest of vipers.
I'm not familiar with Cake Central, but it's such a shame to see LP's boards become a shell of their former selves. This always seemed to be the most "down the middle" Disney site to me (MiceAge/Micechat was too self-consciously "above" Disney, Mouseplanet was too cheerleader-y), and so many of the posters were interesting or funny or thoughtful or all of the above. People have suggested a Facebook group but I'm not really a Facebook guy, and I don't think it would be the same (unless somebody can tell me different).
As I say, when replying to any email asking me to do anything with facebook: (Every piece of computing hardware that is under my direct control has Facebook interdicted. In most cases, it's interdicted in the host table file. In the case of my [non-rooted Android] tablet, I installed "No Root Firewall" specifically to interdict it, and found that it was finding an awful lot of unwanted traffic from other apps, apps I don't even use [but can't get rid of], that was wasting my bandwidth, and slowing MY Internet traffic to a snail's pace, and so I interdicted that as well. I installed it after an innocent-looking hyperlink turned out to be a concealed indirect link to Facebook. I take extreme offense when somebody tries to do THAT to me.)
